PSU - Iowa Dual Thread

Yes he won but he should’ve majored that kid...bottom line. Statement opportunity...

Coulda, shoulda, woulda. This is a dual and strategies are different. Iowa knows that they have to keep the scores down in the matches where they are at a disadvantage if they are to have any chance at all to win.

I understand your sentiment but statements will be made at the Big 10 and NCAA tourneys. Hopefully Keener can channel English...
True...just would like to see him do something other than hang around with top guys...go after those you know you can beat. IDK, maybe it’s me...

We got your point the first few times. Its a play by play thread.

Why does the woman come out at the end of each period and hover by the ref? Can't the ref hear the horn at the end of each period?

Really? Have you never seen that before?

The ref is so focused on the wrestlers that to a large extent he tunes out all other noises. At the same time, if the home team's wrestler is close to getting a pin, the fans can be amazingly loud, and drown out almost everything else.

The person (not always a girl) that takes the ref comes out and at 5 seconds usually starts giving a count down so that the ref knows that the end of the period is near. The individual then taps the ref when the clock is at 0:00, and the ref blows their whistle.

The wrestlers, after years of wrestling, are pretty accustomed to stopping on the whistle. Like the ref, they can be so focused on the competition that they don't really hear the buzzer.

HR crying that Pipher should have been stalled out. They should be bitching that Kemerer showed no sense of urgency. I'm shocked that he didn't get at the very least a tech. I'll take it though.

I can understand some gripes about Pipher stalling. He could have been hit a couple times IMO. That said, agree that Kem wasn't really pushing the issue all that much.

Marinelli almost made a big mistake there, but real solid effort with the heavy hips to prevent any throw from Joseph right off the bat

After the way Micah ripped through Pipher last week, I expect a pin fall from Kemerer

I have to admit, as a wrestling novice, that this is my "what time do the parking lots open?" type question. ;)
Thanks!

well that stinks.

Joseph's only problem is getting takedown/rideouts and riding time. So matches he's controlling, like Richie Lewis and Marinelli, are only 5-3, and he feels like he still needs to score. Folk rules suck sometimes.
