PSU vs tOSU

125- 0-5. Could be a pin.
133- 0-8. Pletcher with decision.
141- 3-8. Toss up. Favor Lee.
149- 9-8. Tech at minimum. Hayes gonna stall.
157- 9-13. Jordan gonna step it up against jv.
165- 12-13. Comfy regular decision for VJ.
174- 15-13. Toss up. Favor Hall slightly.
184- 18-13. Toss up. Favor Bo at home.
197- 18-16. Taking Moore, Shak win possible.
285- 18-21 tOSU. Snyder at worst major.

Penn State just throwing out prayers...Bring in a 133lber that was The only bright spot for Northern Illinois and he's not gotten any better. Now bring in a 25 year old that won't get teched/pinned every match.at 125lbs.
Yep. Penn State is just terrible at wrestling. Be thankful for what you have, you could be like us!

Yeah PSU needed their 25 yr old 125 pounder after their last 125 lb. skipped town because his ego couldn't handle being the 6th best wrestler on the team. But don't worry, his ego found a place where he is the only guy with a shred of talent on the whole team so he no longer has to feel inadequate.

This is how I see the dual working out after the bad luck suffered last week.

Intermission: Buckeyes retreat to their locker room and bank on the 2nd half pin chain being brought out of hiding.

....and Hula Hoop Girl comes out at the half and fires up the crowd for the 2nd half.

Perennial Top Five Rutgers' 149 is an import from a directional school himself -- and only the Three Stooges act kept him off his back.

Here goes:

125 - I believe Schnupp is the safer choice over Kuhn. Devin was within 19 seconds of not getting pinned by the Jersey guy; I believe he can hold NaTo to a TF. We don't know what we have in Kuhn. I'd go with the wrestler we know. tOSU - 5, PSU - 0.
133 - Pletcher is not a bonus point machine, but I think he'll major Keener. Keener lost two 0-7 matches (one short of a major) at the Scuffle against opponents who were not as talented as Pletcher. tOSU - 9, PSU - 0.
141 - Nick majored Thorn; Thorn had his way with McKenna. I think Nick by a decision.
tOSU - 9; PSU - 3.
149 - Without Nolf, Zain needs to rain pain on Hayes and get the pin. tOSU - 9, PSU - 9.
157 - I'm assuming Bo Pipher here. When Bo went up a weight and wrestled at 165 he was majored. Didn't show anything to be optimistic about at the Scuffle. M Jordan with the major. tOSU - 13, PSU - 9.
165 - Cenzo needs to score bonus here; he will major. tOSU - 13, PSU - 13.
174 - Bo Jordan has beaten Mark more than Mark has beaten Bo, but Mark evens the score by a decision. tOSU - 13, PSU - 16.
184 - I believe the score is Bo 4, Martin 2. Bo has won all the dual matches, Martin the tournament matches (going by memory here). This is a dual, so advantage Bo by decision. tOSU - 13, PSU - 19.
197 - The match is determined here. I think Cael sends Rasheed out against #1 Moore. We'll find out how good Shakur is in this match and I believe he gets the job done. tOSU - 13, PSU - 22.
285 - Nevills was majored by Coon. Snyder by TF. tOSU - 18, PSU - 22.

Having said all that, tOSU has more paths to victory than the Nits. Victories for them at 174 and 184 would be disappointing but not shocking. PSU needs to pull the upset at 197 to win. So the path is there for PSU, but our guys will need to wrestle their best dual to date to get the W. Clearly with Nolf wrestling, we wouldn't need 197 to win, but that is no longer an option.

WOW! Even duct tape can't fix this level of stupid.

A consumed Kyle Snyder with focus in destroying PSU can only be good news residually for Kollin Moore, Myles Martin and Bo Jordan as well, the 3 guys he’s gonna be rolling with in the practice room learning from the best wrestler in the world from here on out. Couldn’t ask for anything better situation and preparation wise for an upper weight moving forward to this postseason. Going to be exciting for sure.

Not worried about how Snyder deals with the pressure, but let’s see how it impacts the 2nd tier guys on his team. I’m assuming PSU is still pissed about the Rutgers debacle and their guys are going to ratchet up their game. May not be enough without Nolf (I’m predicting a 5-7 point OSU victory), but I expect big things out of Hall and Nickal especially in those huge matchups.

This is how I see the dual working out after the bad luck suffered last week.

125: The "Wreck Hall" crowd takes all the good oxygen out of the room and Nato gasses in the third just enough for Schnupp/Kuhn to throw him in a headlock. Ref calls a quick pin but Tan Tom is furious and immediately goes to Twitter to complain about the officiating.

133: Pletcher ahead by 1 with 12 seconds to go in the third when Keener runs through a blast double and wins by 1. Tan Boys challenge but to no avail.

141: Mckenna gets the first takedown then is meticulously picked apart until he breaks and gramby's himself to his back for the fall. PSU up 15-0 after 3.

149: Zain dislocates both of Hayes arms and he is stuck trying to fight off a pin only using his legs. It doesn't work and Zain politely shakes his hand after destroying him mentally and physically.

157: Nolf comes out in a giant leg brace and uses it to his advantage by only hitting whirly birds for 5 minutes straight getting the tech at the end of the 2nd period. PSU up 26 - -1 at the break as OSU loses a team point because Tommy had an aneurysm and just projectile vomited on the ref. He said it was an accident but we all know it was intentional.

Intermission: Buckeyes retreat to their locker room and bank on the 2nd half pin chain being brought out of hiding.

165: Cenzo up by 12 but then Campbell methodically backs off the mat 6 times in a row to get DQ'd. Ryan throws the brick but the ref throws it back.

174: Bo's kids had a birthday party to go to so he didn't make the trip. Cue the Mixer. PSU 38 - -2 another team point as Jaggers has to be restrained while explaining the rules about backups being Mixer'd by Mark.

184: Bo by Dec. 41 - -2

197: Shak Nasty comes out to Notorious B.I.G. "I love it when you call me big Poppa" and pins Moore in 7 seconds. Ryan throws the brick again and at this point the ref gives it to the scorers table and puts Ryan in timeout for 3 minutes.

HWT: Capt America see's no need to wrestle as his team is losing by an insurmountable sum so Nevills pins his brother.

Final Score 53 - -2 for the good guys

In all seriousness I have it 21-19 PSU even without Nolf. I have a feeling this will be the best effort we see all year from our guys. I really hope Nolf can go at Ncaa's as the team race will be a lot tighter without him but def still possible of winning. I will be watching the dual from the beach in Cancun so even with a loss I will still be winning.

You do know this scenario is impossible, right?? I mean, everyone knows the challenge brick can't be thrown that many times, duh;):)

The Dual: first team to 20 pts wins.
I just hope tOSU isn't sitting on 15 when Snyder takes the mat:eek:.

PSU did go from slight fav to slight dog - IMO.

Does a coach try to have their wrestlers go out and go big for the extra bonus or just have them wrestle their match? In one scenario you are going for the dual win but possibly at the expense of individual records and seeding. If they get to Bo and up by 3 will they push for him to go big? That strategy may not be the best against Martin and could cost him. But if only winning by 3 at this point it is highly unlikely to win without bonus from Bo.

If you play around with the scoring numbers on a spreadsheet, you’ll see PSU still has a few narrow paths to winning if Bo & Hall win by DEC.

If you plug WBF in for Zain and some bonus for Joseph, you’ll start to see some different possible winning scenarios.

As if Snyder wouldn't have been fully focused anyway. And the other guys aren't feeding off him anyway.

If the other guys need him to tweet it for reinforcement (which I doubt), then they have a problem.

Yes, see pin chain.

Also it doesn't work, because you can't actually see pin chain, it rarely leaves its box.

I think the tweets and to a lesser extent the pin chain is about growing their fan base. Willie and CP admitted yesterday, tOSU doesn't have the support our boys enjoy with fans. To keep the University invested they way they are, they need to push more fans.

There are a bunch of quotes from Cael, NN, NLee, Rasheed on the CDT twitter feed so check that out because I doubt they all will make it to print.

but this is something I picture rocky saying in 2018 after training with Mickey

Didn't see you posted this already Dunke, I dropped it in another thread.

Add this to his comment recently to Byers about eating, IIRC, "boxes of brownies." Kid is hilarious.

I suspect that there are a lot of hungry wrestlers ENVYING Rasheed!

I got a strong dislike for basketball in HS, when after wrestling practice I was looking forward to a dinner of a hamburger patty and a few peas. Then the b-ball players would come back from their practice, look at me and grin saying, "Umm, boy am I looking forward to a cheeseburger, french fries and milkshake." For some reason I couldn't see the humor in that!!
