That post tells me nothingWell, Sunday's starting out really nice.
I was thinking the same thing, but was retisant to post it. Something is off.Maybe I’m wrong and he just doesn’t have it. That wasn’t particularly encouraging.
Agree. He is SO much better when he stays aggressive.BB is a very frustrating wrestler to watch.
I’m still not all the way out, but that was super disappointing to watch.I was thinking the same thing, but was retisant to post it. Something is off.
Facundo has the cauliflower ear of a wrestler ten years his senior.I think this interview is free:

Definite LOL moment near the end when Alex mentions his opponent trying something tactical against him that his training partners do very well....
Anyone know who the interviewer is? Says she's a PSU Alum. I wish we had more women in wrestling media, honestly.
Mitch mesenbrinkAbsolutely. Look at those 8 and tell me which one Levi cannot beat?

What's frustrating is he was pushing D'Emilio around so why change strategy and start backing up. Definitely in his head. He's the only one that can pull himself out of this tendancy.I’m still not all the way out, but that was super disappointing to watch.
This is all very fair.think i posted this a couple months ago, but the bartlett situation reminds me a lot of cash wilcke. shows flashes wrestling up a weight against much bigger wrestlers. we thought moving down to 184 would solve some of his weaknesses and he would be a top 5 guy. he ended up being about the same. solid, good enough to AA, but on the outside looking in (got totally robbed against max dean). but the moral of the story is moving down didn't change who he was as a wrestler.
bartlett was a much more highly touted recruit than wilcke, but wilcke had more success at 197 than bartlett had at 149. could be different. who knows? but i've had this thought for a while. i don't think you guys need him next year, so not that big a deal from that perspective. my guess is he's a fringe AA candidate with upside. fortunately for him, it's a weak weight, 100x weaker than the 184 weight wilcke moved down to.
So much for that thoughtSo how will it work if both Joe and Matt Lee win their blood round matches and land opposite each other in the next round?
D'emilio, more so than anyone on the team, has benefited from Steiber being on the coaching staff. He has improved, a lot, over the past year, especially in technique. Last season he hit a Steiber move to pin the Rutgers kid who was ranked above him.Boy if that wasn't a typical BB match. I thought down a weight he would easily handle wrestlers of that caliber. Very disappointing.
Did Joe Lee get pinned? Ugh.
Beau loses to Lovett 6-0 in a match he never really threatened at allBartlett advances. He gave up 2 passivity points, but got 3 points late to win. Gets Lovett.
Don’t you know - we’re doomed. Just wait until an early dual and Bearclaw gets pinnedMan you all take freestyle results way to seriously. Folk is a different animal, wait till we see BB results this season.
There shouldn’t be any reason he wouldn’t. Was always pencilled in at 149.With Robbie so injury prone and Beau having such a poor showing, I started thinking about the absence of Shane Van Ness. What are the chances that Shane wrestles in November?
After wrestling all day long while Mesenbrink sat on his butt and rested. I’ll take the rematch.Mitch mesenbrink
watched the last minute he didnt take one shot did he think he was winning?very poor job thereMaybe I’m wrong and he just doesn’t have it. That wasn’t particularly encouraging.
i was thinking about this earlier. are there examples of guys who came in defensive specialists like bartlett and cael developed into offensive dynamos? off the top of my head i can't think of any. seems like he elevates the offensive guys to insane levels, but the less aggressive wrestlers have stayed pretty middling. good, but not great. i'm thinking of bartlett, berge, mccutcheon, verkleeren. facundo and howard in their limited sample sizes (i know facundo looked good this spring, but he didn't wrestle anybody of ncaa qualifier level at either tourny). This is all very fair.
I’m not even in the camp that this is a big upset, maybe not even an upset at all. I was hoping to get to the point where beating good guys (and D’Emilio is good- not great but good) is something we expect from BB. Just not there yet.
