Carter theory (NO PROOF)

Hello! This is my first ever post on this board, so I nice to meet to you all! I've been a lurker on this board for over a year (thanks for all the insight and humor during that time!), but am finally posting something on my mind haha.

This is a random theory I have about Carter seeming to be a bit gassed the past two matches. I have literally 0 proof and it's more than likely that he is dealing with an illness or slight injury.

However, is it possible Carter is already starting to weight cut a bit for the Olympic Trials? The turnaround of the NCAA Championships to the Olympic Trials is less than a month I believe, and he has to cut around 10 pounds in that time right? Could he be getting a bit of a jump start now in preparation for that? We all know that Carter loves a challenge, and I feel like he would view winning an NCAA championship while being significantly lighter than his competition as a unique thing to try and accomplish.

Anyways, just a thought and was curious if anyone else had wondered this same thing. Thanks for reading and I hope to chat more often as the season is reaching it's most exciting time!

Expanded playoffs

I actually feel as-though the expanded playoffs just might favor the Big 10 more-so then the SEC overall. I feel like the expanded playoffs favors the Big 10 more due to its physical style of play primarily.

Take that for what it is but that’s my belief as the playoffs are set to expand finally!!!!!!!!

Football James Franklin & Justin Lustig Press Conference

Head coach James Franklin and new special teams coordinator Justin Lustig are meeting with the media today. The rising redshirt freshmen and sophomores will also be available today but unfortunately I've been snowed in and won't be able to get to that. Anyways, updates from James and Justin below.

Question about college degree accreditation

I know a guy who is stating that he has a Ph.D. and is asking people to call him "Doctor". His Ph.D. is from Northwestern. Er, Northwestern Theological Seminary. (he typically only says "Northwestern"). When I look up the university, they state you can get your Ph.D. in 90 days and point out that it is NOT accredited. Can he use the title of Dr.?

Secondly, he needs a master's and claims he has one from Wesly Seminary. This is a 36-hour master's degree. They claim to be accredited by both the Association of Theological Schools and the Higher Learning Commission.

Are these in any way legit and comparable to a master's or doctorate from any mainstream college or university? What accreditation is common?

Thanks.

NIL

I don’t see NIL ever becoming a thing under Franklin because most smart, successful alum are well-aware that Franklin sucks as a Big Game Coach. Plus, taking into account the massive extension on-top of that that lots of alum weren’t necessarily on-board with. Not to mention Franklin’s exorbitant salary.

Point is the alum who make the big bucks, & are intelligent, successful individuals themselves most-likely aren’t gonna donate their hard-earned money to NIL because Franklin can’t beat a legit top 10 team, so it would be a waist of an investment another-words!

Ultimately, it’s no different than investing in a bad stock. Any smart, successful person most-likely isn’t gonna do that!

When someone quotes another poster's comment, there is a small up arrow by the quoted person's name. That arrow is a live link to the original post. Tap on that up arrow and you will be directed to that quote. You can do this multiple times to see what the discussion is about. It will go back to other pages in long threads.

Don't know if it will jump to another thread if that is where the original quote is from but I think it will.

This helps understand a conversation within a thread.

2024

Let's have a general discussion about 2024 given the fact that 24 will just be different in so-many ways for us given the expanded Big 10, & expanded playoffs.

My early thoughts are as-follows............

1. Our most exciting, & critical game of the season will almost-certainly be at USC on October 12th in a game at the Coloseium that'll almost-certainly be under the lights on NBC.

Franklin generally doesn't fare to well in big games so I don't have my hopes up to much for that 1 let's just put it that way.

2. Overall, I believe our season will largely hinge on Drew Allar's development. If he takes a step forward next season we should at-least be 10 - 2 which would almost-certainly be enough to at-least get us into the playoffs.

Along those same lines Nolan Rucci, my goodness if he ends-up being a plug-in left tackle for us given his immense size, & talent that'll almost-certainly help Allar's development immensely as a Junior, as-well-as help our talented backs hopefully have big years next season.

Ultimately, especially, with Rucci in the fold I'd be disappointed if our talented, & experienced backs didn't also take a giant step forward next season.

Along those same lines I'd be very surprised, & disappointed if we didn't figure-out a way to utilize Quinton Martin's immense talent, & versatility as a freshman despite the depth chart.

3. Defensively, adding AJ Harris is massive from the standpoint of if he has the ability to be a true number 1 corner that will just make life so much easier for everyone-else on defense ultimately.

4. Franklin's big game problem is what concerns me most given the expanded playoffs, & expanded Big 10!
