2018-19 Sixers Thread

Sixers still up 8 with under 5 after going up by double digits a minute ago. Embiid not playing well.

Sixers!!!!!!!!!!!!!

94 - 89 victory in Game 2 of the Eastern Semis!

1st win in Toronto for the Sixers since 2012.

Butler with balls of steel

Yeah. Butler was money tonight. Great on both ends of the floor. Good move by the Sixers in bringing him in. They really needed a guy to whom they could give the ball in crunch time and say “Go get your shot.”

Don’t they call over the back fouls anymore? Toronto got several offensive rebounds down the stretch where I’d swear they climbed all over a philly players back.

Now that’s how you freakin defend Simmons. If he plays that kind of D with regularity this team can win a championship. Leonard still had 35, but he made him work for it. Would love to eat my words in this situation.

Vey nice win, home court advantage now and hopefully a healthy Embiid ...clean up the turnovers and the Sixers win this series.

Agree...home court in the NBA is huge. Toronto always seems to fold when the pressure is applied. They always played the Cavs tough then collapse when the Cavs won a game or two. I think Gasol adds some grit to the team but you could see them losing their moxie at the end of the third quarter. This is nuts in the NBA as teams commonly come back from 15 point deficits in the 4th (and sometimes more).

The Sixers got a little something out of the bench, and the Raptors got nothing. Toronto starters are playing heavy minutes. Maybe this helps the Sixers. They could really use Scott back. Leonard is a beast though which is still why I like Toronto over the course of this one. The Sixers need a shooting guard in a big way. I really wish Brown would get some sack and play Smith for 10 minutes a game and just let him D it up.

Brown made adjustments defensively, Scott coming back would be awesome. Asking a lot of one player to carry a team for a series is not good. Sixers clean up the turnovers, they have a great shot to win. I think game 3 goes to Sixers. Game 4 is key, can't have that let down like Toronto did game 2.

Mr Horwitz representing up north last night! Everytime the Sixers scored the fans in the high priced seats got "the sign"

I thought Greg Monroe played well. I like Bobo but I feel he's soft at times and doesn't utilize his size to his advantage. Trouble with Monroe at times his hands are the best but he got the job done. Big win for us.

Boban got abused by the pick and pop with Gasol and Ibaka. Toronto is too good to give them the opportunity for free easy shots which is why brown sent him to the bench (until Monroe got hurt).

Can we get some Sixers talk going?? Big win tonight for the good guys!

Well...by the sounds of this article I was WAAAY wrong about Mike Scott’s availability. I love when I’m wrong in favor of the good guys! Sounds like he should be a go tonight.

Also...Sixers home underdogs tonight (+1.5). Surprised by that number. Looks like no one else believes in them. Hopefully the fans tonight there make it hell for the Raptors.

Are we treating game 3 like a no hitter...no one wants to bring it up since they are doing well?

Have they fired Brett Brown yet??

Nope...watching the game now and he’s still on the bench coaching.

But that seems like a silly question...I’ve never seen a coach fired during a playoff series.

I get the feeling you already knew the answer to that question you silly goose!
