2019 NCAAs -- Session 4 Thread

So not as knowledable on the technical rules. What exactly does someone have to do to be called for fleeing or the stall call for such?

133 Consolation R4: RBY vs. Micky Phillippi (Pitt)

Per 1
Speed vs. Strength, at least by the eye test. After about 1:30, they are both wrestling from their knees. RBY gets a leg, elevates it along the edge, trips him but Phillippi with a whizzer so no TD, and Phillippi kicks away. Damn. End

Per 2
Phillippi takes bottom. Phillippi up and out very quickly, 0-1. Stalemate with 1:30 left. RBY in on a single, and he gets the TD, 2-1. OOB with 54 sec. Caution on RBY on the restart. Phillippi out quickly, 2-2. Stalemate with 27 sec left. RBY in on a single, and trips him down for a TD, 4-2. OOB with 6 sec left. Phillippi gets an esc with 2 sec left, 4-3. Ugh

Per 3
RBY takes neutral. RBY reaches low, Phillippi sprawls, nothing. 1 min left. RBY tries to shoot a single, nothing. Phillippi shoots in, gets a single, they scramble, and OOB with 12 sec. Wow. Phillippi shoots, RBY sprawls, and that's the match. 4-3, RBY advances, and is an AA. Wait, Pitt is throwing a challenge brick, I think for a hands to the face. Refs take almost no time reviewing, and that's the match, as RBY wins!

Wow. He definitely smacked him in the nose. Sometimes it’s nice to be the good guys. Also, Pletchers style suuuuuuuucks.

I'm so happy for RBY ... he was owed a makeup call anyways. He was clearly the aggressor, all of Phillippi's points were from escapes
