2020 Southern Scuffle Thread

I do have to credit Flo for adding some replays of takedowns in a split screen. Wasn't seamless, but was cool to see.

But I think it was Jefe that first turned the board onto Carter...but could be wrong. And Im not ashamed to admit that I wasnt all that high on him. Not like some of the other recruits..
I don't know if I did that or if somebody's trying to butter me up ...

But he caught my eye at 2017 states (his SO year) when he beat a couple good opponents (including Nijenhuis) and then gave Cam Coy a battle in the finals. Much improved over his FR year. And then he won double gold at Fargo that summer.

Which means he caught my attention 1-2 years after he caught Cael's.

His wins at 2018 states over 9-House and Hartman -- the kind of matches you have to win at NCAAs if you want to be a champ. Serious mental toughness.

Hopefully Beard was exhausted bc that was a really poor match.
I agree 100%! Not impressed with his effort or leg defense. Needed to keep whizzer instead of turning down!
Another year in the PSU room will correct a lot.
We need him to be a high AA next year!

I've always wondered what Cael's conditioning program consists of. I bet he will have something ready for Beard when he gets back to State College.

@dunkej01 Having flashbacks to this board creaming Morgan during his freshman year?

I seem to recall that guy working out OK for us.

Goodness, PSUNATTY--did you ever wrestle? That was Beard's 6th match in 2 days--with 5 of his 6 matches being against ranked guys (3 of them in the top 8!). I thought he wrestled very well. Yes, he tired at the end, not surprising under the circumstances. I salute Beard for a great effort over the 2 days! Sorry if I seem critical, but most of us have no idea what these guys go through!
