No matter where Nick goes I hope it is at 125. It just makes the whole year that much more delicious. If he goes big 10, only PSU though.

I'll admit, if he does come to PSU and goes 125 to get a crack at Spencer, it will be the most anticipated match in history to me. And before anyone goes off, I said to me....I'm not saying to everyone. Would be kinda crazy if Spencer lost out becoming a 4 timer in H.S. AND college to someone looking for their own "vision quest".
Spencer has a redshirt left. When he takes it this year I bet HR will see your best work to-date 🧐

I for one hope this happens. Nick goes from the wrestler no longer mentioned by name to the guy that comes in, wins a title at 125, and provides the points necessary to put PSU over the top for a national title. At the NCAA's, the match at 125 goes off last with the winner between Lee and Suriano claiming the individual title and winning the team title for their school. I am claiming the movie rights.............

Eh.
It would be huge, but still be behind "Taylor / Dake" at NCAAs for me.

And depending on team points race, could still be behind Bo/Myles @ Cleveland NCAAs.

Could even be behind Q / Kilgore at 2013 NCAAs, due to the 1 vs 2 upset + team clinching.

The new shiny object isn't always "the best ever".

If PSU's 125 pound wrestler is in the finals the championship was clinched Friday night.

So… September still isn’t close enough to the start of the season to run this rumor out yet again…. For the fifth or sixth time. Click Click, Baby.
Okay, I’m game. I’ll take him. He had me at (Cael’s) “hello?”

If Suriano goes 125 for PSU, Iowa has a very real problem. That’s a likely 15 point gain over Steen or Howard.

If Spencer takes a RS AND Suriano goes at 125 for PSU, their team chances are basically gone. That is a likely 35 point swing, and they don’t have the horses to pull that off.

The crazy thing is that, yes, we had four champs last year, but there is significant room for improvement in terms of team point production. Kerk could very easily bonus his way to the semifinals; if Gable isn’t there, he could be a finalist or even win. I think we’ll see significant improvements in the total production out of 141-149-157-165.

There was some talk on Twitter yesterday that Spencer is skipping knee surgery to compete this year. I didn’t personally see a trusted source, but I sure hope that he isn’t prioritizing his team again over his long-term health.

One guy on the RU site said it wasn’t happening, and then another (who seemed more in the know) said nothing would be known until Labor Day weekend. Of course, I don’t know the connections either of them may or may not have.
Classes have started so I would assume he (any new transfer) would have to be second semester only.

The guy (Bill Garbarini) who said it wasn't happening I believe is more connected to the SKWC. Don't believe he has any connection to the Suriano's, at least not now, and he definitely has no connections to Penn State.

Am not sure who the other guy is but he seems pretty confident.

If I remember correctly, Bill was on the Suriano to Rutgers shitliner fairly early when many ( even some at Flo) said it wasn't going to happen. May be misremembering but I do know Bill seemed quite confident the Suriano transfer was quite likely to happen.

Per Bill "Not happening Mike straight from the horses mouth!" I'm guessing he texted Nick or Bob (more likely Bob lol) who told him no. I don't doubt Bill has some very good sources.

That being said, it seems a meeting is happening and all parties want it under wraps. I don't think it's a done deal but I don't think a decision has been made one way or another.

I think it's a done deal either way, I kid ,seems their been some smoke and Nick hasn't committed any where yet.

Why not? Any hard feelings? Don’t think so as I harken back to the championship in Pburgh after Nick won and he was walking down the hallway to the interview room and crossed paths with Shak. He interrupted the conversation on camera to say “nothing but respect for those guys”! Cael allowed him to leave. He didn’t have to. He could have made it real difficult but he didn’t. Cannot think how this couldn’t work for all involved. Would be awesome. The return of the champ! The faithful will go wild in the old barn...
He’s a self-promoting weasel w/ helicopter parents. No interest in him or his BS. I won’t be in his corner wherever that POS ends up

It will forever give me great satisfaction that D Taylor got his first gold medal before Dake. Who got abused in his 2nd Oly match

I will be really disappointed if that…. and his father get anywhere near our team.
And for the record, I would rather lose than have that…. on our team.
Posts like this probably make him want to come even more. He loves being the bad guy and the thought of a sold out Rec Hall booing him while he‘s wearing a PSU singlet is more than he could ever want.

Reading between the tea leaves, nothing is a done deal but both sides are interested and obviously there are a lot of questions to ask. Can those questions be answered in a way that both sides agree? Who knows and that's why we should all take a "I'll see it when I believe it" approach to this (AKA when Suriano actually is wrestling for a school)

For the record, I doubt a "you left before" or "Will you dad stay out of the way" will even be discussed. More likely, what's his future at NLWC, how does NIL play in, will you give Nick a pitch count since making 125 an entire season will be hard. It's possible Cael doesn't even want a mercenary if the demands are way too high.

Willie retweeted Mineo's tweet, say what you want about Mineo but he definitely has NJ sources. Willie also doesn't retweet his stuff unless he is pretty sure of it. He follows up by saying he directly talked to Cael and said it isn't happening ... then he tweeted a yet lol. It's pretty obvious a meeting is happening and nobody wants it out hence why I believe the Rutgers guy texted a member of the Suriano camp and they said no.

Nick loves being the man and he wasn't that originally at Penn State. I fully believe he would have become ONE of the dudes (aka maybe we could have had a Super Six instead of a Fab Five) but he's still just one of them.

This time around, I think he feels he can be the man (despite the fact we have 4 returning champions, a former finalist in Max Dean and a super talented kid in Kerkvliet) ... why? Pretty simple, Penn State didn't win last year and potentially beating Spencer and putting us over would make him the talk of the tournament and of Penn State. Story will never be forgotten.

No matter where he goes (whether it's Arizona State or Ohio State), his eyes are on Spencer. You can sure as hell bet if PSU wins with Suriano by a margin of less than 10 points, the talk from not just Iowa fans but everyone is Cael brought in the mercenary that is Nick Suriano .... and Nick will love it.
