Since when is 823 an insider?
Does anyone remember the username of the guy I believe was a true insider here. If not mistaken someone offended him by making a crack about someone sitting in the stands and it ended up being him. The name totally slips my mind. What I liked about him he named names when he could and was usually right.Anyone who claims to be an insider and / or acts like he or she has inside information becomes an "insider" for information starved fans.
Flo's transfer portal tracker here: https://www.flowrestling.org/articles/8240072-2022-23-in-season-d1-transfer-trackerWhat 125 lbers are in the portal? Unless he means Betancourt, he is either fibbing or accusing the PSU staff of tampering.

Betancourt was less accomplished in both folk and freestyle than Steen coming out of high school.Do we have any expectations for Betancourt (assuming the two lightweight classes are not actually Ramos & Bartlett, LOL)? How good of a recruit was he? Does he have at least NQ potential?
You’d be last person I’d dispute on this. I go mostly on memory. Was thinking Steen was 30ish while Betterncourt was 50-60 range.Betancourt was less accomplished in both folk and freestyle than Steen coming out of high school.
As a fan, I would set my expectations accordingly.
So what 125 qualifies as “really good” on that list?Updated
2023 NCAA D1 Wrestling Off-Season Transfer Tracker - FloWrestling
Take a look at every NCAA D1 wrestler that has entered the portal since it opened back up on March 9th.www.flowrestling.org
PSU doesn't need any transfer to win again next year, but a Truax transfer would make it almost unthinkable that anyone else threatens for the team title. It would also give Truax his best chance at becoming a National Champion as an individual. 125/133 are not needed from a tournament standpoint, but if Howard isn't healthy it would make for some more intesting dual meet scores. I'm still hoping Robbie Howard is healthy and can finally show off his talents. Top 5 guy at 125.
It wouldnt surprise me even a little if Cael brings in a 125 or a 133. I just don’t think any on the portal list right now makes much of a difference. All this is true, but Cael might be looking at insurance if a couple of studs decide to take an Oly RS.
It's not hard to imagine that we could contend for the championship without one of Carter or Brooks. Maybe even both if he brings in one upper and one lower-weight wrestler.
As it is, we would return 67 points without Carter and Brooks; with Truax it would be 80.5 points. That's a pretty strong hand to start with.
To be clear, I'm not campaigning for a 125 transfer, but I can understand why Cael might be interested.
None.So what 125 qualifies as “really good” on that list?
Note to all you aspiring insiders out there, if you’re going to share information, try doing it without making it look like PSU is cheating.None.
LaJoie is a potential NQ who might go 1-2, if that turns people on.
Making it look like or are they?Note to all you aspiring insiders out there, if you’re going to share information, try doing it without making it look like PSU is cheating.
‘preciate it…
Many Ohio State fans didn’t lose any sleep over Betancourt leavingBetancourt was less accomplished in both folk and freestyle than Steen coming out of high school.

yeah neither steen nor betancourt are serious answers. i doubt cael even recruited him. Many Ohio State fans didn’t lose any sleep over Betancourt leaving
Well according to Psugo they are.Making it look like or are they?
(cough cough everybody is cheating a little bit in college sports)
I really think Cael Nasdeo is going to be more than a room guy. I can see him improving and being on a Jordan Conaway type of trajectory. I don't think it happens year 1 though. It wouldnt surprise me even a little if Cael brings in a 125 or a 133. I just don’t think any on the portal list right now makes much of a difference.
Well, why would they? They had Heinselman and Gonzales on campus, Kilkeary on the way, and all those recruiting national titles. Many Ohio State fans didn’t lose any sleep over Betancourt leaving
That’s a good guess. Maybe one of the Rutgers 125s. Or Braxton Brown. Wasn’t he from Bo Nickals hs? Maybe even coached by Bo’s dad???I'd keep an eye on Spratley at Minnesota. Fits as both a potential high level scorer, but also a long term solution, which I'm sure Cael is desperately looking for. I know he's trained with Gilman in the past.
He'd be highly pursued if he hits the portal, which I have no idea if he's going to or not. Minnesota loves sending talented 125's packing in favor of Pat McKee though.
Shawver and Brown are interesting, but frankly not good enough to go out and pursue. If they call up and ask to come, then sure, but I'd think Cael has his sights set higher. That’s a good guess. An example of piling on...Myself and the other members of 823anon are dying for more details.
Not to say that Cael wouldn't look at Spratley if he hit the portal (he would be stupid not to...), but he generally looks for long term solutions through recruiting, and I have a feeling he's probably pushing all the chips in on Lilledahl as the next long term solution. I mean, Suriano, Teasdale, and Howard were all viewed as the "long term solution" after Nico but the fact all have failed for various reasons doesn't mean Cael isn't looking at recruiting as the real long term solution.I'd keep an eye on Spratley at Minnesota. That is a clue isn't it? Guess I won't be sleeping tonight. An example of piling on...
Spratley has 4 years remaining, so he could still be a long-term solution if he were to portal. Not to say that Cael wouldn't look at Spratley if he hit the portal (he would be stupid not to...), but he generally looks for long term solutions through recruiting, and I have a feeling he's probably pushing all the chips in on Lilledahl as the next long term solution. Yeah he's in thereI believe someone posted he was in student directory as well but I could be spreading bs on this one. Lol
I'm all aboard the Jesuroga train. Shall we make up quotes, too. "I considered my options and wanted to go somewhere where wrestling is fun again".Yeah he's in there

I have zero expectations for Betancourt, as I am not so sure he could hang with Steen 1 year older and hopefully 5 lbs stronger. If he were to beat out Gary, he to could be a NQ or a 0-2, 1- type guy. Nasdeo likely the same.
Pre season I called out Noto is the only kid one might presume would have portal interest given PSUs gap, that Cael might have mutual interest. He was only projected as atop 10-15 guy at the time. What attracted me to him was his age (Soph), a blood round or above ability to deliver some points, and if course location. Layer on top that Lock Haven probably won't optimize his potential it seemed PSU could prove attractive to him as well.
I still think he would be great, but I have seen ZERO credible evidence either side has any interest, likewise Ramos or others out there. Vito would be a 133, and it seems like he can and will stay at Cornell.
Howard is still our best tangible option by far, and I am sure we are all on the same page pulling for that kid. Given the time off maybe he's growing into a 133, no matter we need help there as well. Davis needs that redshirt year. Unfortunately, Howard has to be viewed as a 50/50 proposition of lasting a full season let alone a career. If he gets hurt seriously again, he might consider hanging up the singlet for good.
So if we want to start baseless rumors I am currently enamored with Nate Jesuroga, simply because of the two birds with one stone benefit. It solves our problem, while driving HR into the caniption fit category.
Let's send Psugo823 over there to post some insider info on Nate going to PSU, sit back and watch the fireworks.
And there's just as much of anything resembling proof or evidence indicating this is true than any of the various ways they've decided Cael has been cheating.I'm all aboard the Jesuroga train. And that's a bad thing??? It's like another 10 year supply of birdfeed, if you get my drift. And there's just as much of anything resembling proof or evidence indicating this is true than any of the various ways they've decided Cael has been cheating.
It’s more likely McKee ends up in the portal than Spratley, per a guy who has some halfway decent connectionsI'd keep an eye on Spratley at Minnesota. Fits as both a potential high level scorer, but also a long term solution, which I'm sure Cael is desperately looking for. I know he's trained with Gilman in the past.

West2east or something like that. I have seen him post a time or two on HR, and a couple times here in the past month. Yeah. You must not know but he’s Corby. Seemed to tail off from posting here after he and Willie had their feud. Don’t know why.West2east or something like that. I have seen him post a time or two on HR, and a couple times here in the past month. Nothing insider type stuff though.
Still posts on HR and has good infoYeah. You must not know but he’s Corby. Seemed to tail off from posting here after he and Willie had their feud. Don’t know why.
I hope you are right, but Jordan is a rare bird. He was pretty good to begin with, and he really wanted to be good. Jordan was chopping wood and carrying water at a Nick Lee level way before Nick was a PSU interest.I really think Cael Nasdeo is going to be more than a room guy.
