2024-25 PSU Lineup (The Dynasty Continues)

Keck never got within a stone's throw of AB. Don't think it's much different with Carter.

It's easy to see why Carter has such a chip on his shoulder all the time. Even much of our own fan base underestimates him constantly.

He hasn't lost a match since B1G s of his freshman year. A returning national champ was the only one that was even in his ball park and by Carter's SR year he was dominating him as well. He just won a bracket with 2 National Champs in it on one leg without an anxious moment or anyone even threatening to score on him. A few weeks later on the same leg he bumps up 20 pounds in a week and acquits himself fine against some of the best 86kgs in the world.

Parker Keck is not touching him.
man Keck looked really good all yr but Brooks handed him his head the last yr it would have been the same this yr that's just how good Brooks is and Carter would be a good match!!

We are pretty much all, myself included, assuming that Lilledahl goes as a true freshman. Do we actually have any facts to support that assumption. Genuinely curious.
Byers said he would be shocked if Davis ever sees 125 again and a redshirt is likely coming. Lilledahl is an absolute stud who is a special talent. He went completely unchallenged at the open including basically takedown drilling Kilkeary in the finals. It's pretty obvious what's going to happen.

125 is the weight true freshman are most likely to bust into the starting lineup and as you said Lilledahl is a special talent, so I see him winning the spot. Question is will it be day one or a wait and see type deal? So much can happen, and Cael does like to redshirt wrestlers although not necessarily in year one. 6 months away, ugh.

He might get baptized somewhere but no he's going to be a title contender by March 2025.

The days of frequent redshirting if a kid is ready are over

If you’re John Holmes, I’m Uncle Carmine. 28cm, baby!!!

Looking at the pictures again, I’m 5’11” and Brooks looks slightly taller than me (eye level is above mine) and Carter looks about the same height as me (eye level slightly below mine). I’m certainly much taller than Levi, Mess, Ksysak, etc. That said, at Nationals I was a good workout from making 141.
At B1Gs, my brother was standing next to Brooks in the Holiday Inn lobby on Saturday night. My brother is 5’7”, Brooks is no taller than 5’9”.

My opinion at the moment (not based on any inside knowledge) is that LL will be the 125 for PSU next year and will be the favorite and probable #1 seed by nationals. We'll see. I don't think we'll see him at 125 for more than just this year, but I believe Cael will want to try to get one season of 125 out of him since I think that Davis will also struggle to make that weight, but Desmond is coming in the following year who seems much more likely to be a multi-year or career 125.

That's all just my opinion from my observations (again, I have no insider information at all).

I like the way you think

My guess..
125- Lilledahl
133- Nagao
141- Beau
149- SVN
157- Mesenbrink
165- Levi
174- Facundo
184- Barr
197- Starocci
Hvw- Kerk
This particular lineup is a dreadnaught! If you look up this term you will find that
dreadnoughts represent a specific naval design concept that is characterized by ALL BIG GUN configurations. This different from a battleship (like tOSU) that is configured with a few 16 inch guns and an array of smaller weaponry. So if you are a cruise liner like Rutgers; which wrestler in this lineup might you hope sink?

Just posting my predicted lineup because it's fun!

125 - LL / BD (BD will RS or challenge for 133)
133 - AN / BD (if they wrestle off I think BD wins)
141 - BB
149 - SVN / TK (think TK goes 157...would they wrestle-off?)
157 - TK / SVN (could SVN move up a weight due to being limited in off-season?)
165 - MM (MM RS after 165 title this season or next)
174 - AF (Levi RS for 165-174)
184 - JB / ZR (think Ryder will make things interesting...JB transfers if not the guy)
197 - CS
285 - GK

Can't believe it's only almost June

Looks good, but MM doesn't have a redshirt available.

I could also see 24-25 as the year all incoming Freshman RS too

I don't think it's about his 'old form' he let's people in on legs to cause scrambles and he's losing them due to people figuring him out. If he is to compete for a spot he needs to learn better defense and attacks.

I think he spent all last year trying what was being taught, and in turn learning. I imagine his scrambling finishes will be improved this year. How much will determine a lot. It took Nico 5 years to master the finish he used against Gilman.

It's too early for much of this but as usual their prognostications had a few insightful nuggets and a bit more crap.

125 - Lilledahl - anyone who questions him as a threat for a national title out of the gate in a relatively weak weight class, is simply ill-informed.
141 - Bartlett was a mistake follow the Granby roll through from being the champ, it will be that tight again most likely.
Kasak - 149/157/Redshirt - it's August, noone really knows
149 - Van Ness, his knee was already hurt for a year + and he was a threat. He will come back stronger and healthy, finally.
157 - who knows.
165 - who knows
Facundo - His pre PSU career was as heralded as any of our recruits, then the kid had a disappointing day of competition, and far too many have already writen him off completely. I think he goes this year and Levi shirts. If he sits, I think he portals out next year, he is unfortunately in the middle of the log jam.
Josh Barr - Carter has already said he will be a multi time champ. The last time we heard praise like that, was Marky talking about Carter.
Carter - he is a 4xer, a tactician, now healthy and motivated. He wins at 184 or 197 vs Keck or AJ. Either will be must watch, but since when has Keck's career anointed him the second coming? Very good, but not legendary.
Kerk - he remains an enigma. His biggest obstacle to running away with it is between his ears. He has Parris' number until he didn't and you could see it in his body language and lack of aggression.
IMO he was no longer into it mentally. He needs to hang out with Mitchell more often and just go for it. Could I see Feldman beating him? Unfortunately, yes, but if Kerk stays aggressive it shouldn't be that close.

It's quite easy to see PSU with 4-6 champs without being much of a homer.
