2024-25 PSU Lineup (The Dynasty Continues)

He's made of wood and therefore a witch?
Burn him!

The Facundo to 157 rumors just has my mind absolutely blown. I always felt some of his struggles might have been related to a cut to 165. I guess that really is the only path into the lineup but not convinced he beats a full eating Kasak.

Funny. I kinda thought he was a smallish 165. I also think a good portion of his issues post-season his freshman year were due to his knee being dinged up.

Facundo is very very talented. The real question is whether at 157 he can be effective.
I agree. Unfortunately for him, everyone around him is equally or more talented and he appears to be odd man out.

I just don't see him beating out Kasak, who will presumably have a much easier cut to make 157.

Facundo certified at 157 right? Eye test can fail in wrestling but he also looked skinnier than he did when he wrestled 157 and 74.

Certainly doesn't seem like he's preparing to go 174.

* Correction: He weighed 165 at certs, but every other psu wrestler was a weight class up at certs also, SVN at 157, Beau at 149, etc...

Yes, unless his data was entered differently from every other PSU wrestler, he weighed somewhere between 157 and 165 for his certification, which almost certainly puts his descent path within 157 eligibility.

So we don't give any misperceptions due to imprecise language:

What a wrestler weighs on Certification Day is not the weight he is certified at.
I agree. We as the public are not able to see what their minimum weight is however, like I heard Latona was between 149.1 and 157 at his cert but obviously will be back down at 141 so that would technically be what he is certified at.

Similar to my initial guess with Levi, I think Kasak will be redshirted until January because the option exists and Facundo will be the fall starter at least early.

Kasak can bulk up (if needed but I don't think it is) and get low pressure open matches in case the redshirt is pulled.

Hopefully they are in the same early season open. I need to watch a Kasak vs Facundo match.

Got a question regarding the spreadsheet. Why are their several sophomores who have red shirts available but didn't wrestle last year?
Because they are walk-ons or books guys. In a lot of cases those guys are 4 years (or less) in the program. If they develop into something more, then I usually update their status to include the RS - see David Evans.

Ok. Thank you for the explanation.

Inside joke. Tim Foley once said that Hall had a limited amount of attacks.
God … I Miss his mixer. He ended up not being PSU’s top hammer, but, he was awfully good. I always enjoyed the intensity with which you had to watch Mark. The guy had a comprehensive arsenal. I watched him closely after his last match at the trials this summer. It was sad to see him sitting on the edge of the mat taking his shoes off and letting all his emotions out.

Watching him do that caused me to form a tear yet smile at the memories.
I had the pleasure of meeting him and just talking several times. Kind of cool, wrestling was never a subject of conversation.
I did ask once how he liked living on the eastern edge of the Midwest and we both laughed.
