Football 2025 Transfer Portal Thread

Prime got his QB with Kaidon Salter--curious to see how that works out. Salter was better in 2023 than 2024 IMO
Beau is going to Indiana and Iowa for visits along with Mizzou and UCF

Hiw about WR Malachi Fields from Virginia? Hagans did recruit him to Virginia. Word is he is ND's top priority.

NDs WR coach was Fields HS fb coach seems to be the big connection there. A lot of smoke around Hagans being the only one to recruit him to college. Since he entered, I've seen less than before. I've not even heard about visits yet.

Shocked by Rivers to GT, but he'll definitely be WR1 there.
GT is doing some very good things in spite of their admin that has been a circus at times stumbling and bumbling to get out of their own way. Here Rivers would have been an upgrade too.

Blay was looking for a big pay day and Franklin/Barnes were not willing to budge - use that money on keeping Durant, IMO.

If a transfer doesn’t commit on or immediately following a visit and keeps taking visits, he’s not coming. He’s looking for a better NIL offer.

I personally like Franklin’s approach. The transfer portal is full of fool’s gold.

Agree, plus they’ll be a few more guys out there next month after the playoff teams have kids leave as well as after spring practice.

We just got Ross from Troy. #33 ranked WR. Good numbers (76 catches, 1 043 yards, 11 tds in '24) but lesser competition. Also he is only 5'11" 161 lbs. Is he a burner?
He better be a burner at that size. 😀

From Troy’s website:

2024 (Junior): Named to the All-Sun Belt First Team as a receiver and all-purpose selection and second team as a return specialist … Finished the regular season leading the Sun Belt and ranking fifth nationally with 11 touchdown receptions … Became just the sixth player in program history and first since 2012 to reach the 1,000-yard receiving mark ... Finished the season with 76 catches for 1,043 yards, the sixth and fourth most in a season in Troy history, respectively … Set the Troy single-game record with 229 receiving yards against Florida A&M … Had three touchdown receptions against the Rattlers, including a 98-yard reception, the longest play in Troy’s DI history and second longest in program history … Led the Sun Belt and ranked 20th nationally, averaging 120.4 all-purpose yards per game, thanks to his work in the return game, where he averaged 17.0 yards per punt return and 16.5 yards per kickoff return … Returned a punt 77 yards for a touchdown at Iowa, the first surrendered by the Hawkeyes since Christian McCaffrey took one to the house in the 2016 Rose Bowl … Scored three touchdowns at Iowa – a 77-yard punt return, a 63-yard reception and a 62-yard reception … Topped the 100-yard receiving mark in four games and the 100-yard all-purpose mark six times
