You get a run heavy defensive look, and we run right to the downhill safety. Should have been PA, Singleton eat the safety up, and something thrown 1v1 on the 2 outside routes.
Why have a 5* QB if you aren't going to let him do 5* QB things?
If Ohio State loses I bet Day takes heat for taking a knee to go to the half but I agreed with that. I thought we should have just run out the half after our first 1st down.
This is about coaching. Allar doesn't look like the same quarterback, and that was a concern going into an environment like this. Therefore, as I wrote earlier in the week, you keep it simple so your quarterback can relax and become focused. That pre-snap garbage doesn't keep it simple.
Well, that first drive for Penn State's defense could not have went much better. Now, what type of adjustments has the offense made?
Penn State will start with decent field position at their own 31. Punt wasn't great but took a nice Ohio State hop.
You can't simulate this type of environment though

For sure--he could be an elite slot CB at the next level. And he's physical enough to deal with bigger receivers. Very impressed
PSU run plays develop so S. L. O. W. L. Y. It is criminal. Plus 64 was pushed 3 yards into the backfield in a NY second. Bad combo
Nice defensive call on 3rd and 3 for osu. But PSU has to recognize that osu is selling out for the run and get the ball to a TE. Maybe they aren't letting Allar audible due to the crowd noise.
Not a great drive for Penn State's offense but Allar looked better which is at least one positive.
Disappointing on 3rd down again but we have them pinned back--another good stand and we'll have great field posiiton.
If we lined up under center on short yardage we have the sneak or a handoff available.
Instead we hand it off to a guy standing still 2 seconds after the snap
It's fair--I do think both defenses are great/elite. If we don't turn the ball over and keep forcing Ohio State to go 70+ yards I'm feeling pretty confident something goes in our favor.
Ohio State brought in Brown and that didn't work. I think you stick with your QB. I've never liked playing 2 QBs.
Going back to last drive. Singleton missed at least one, or potentially two opportunities to have long runs.
