Football GAMEDAY THREAD -- Penn State vs. Ohio State

Allar is 6/17 and we're 0-7 on 3rd downs that's why we're losing--nothing else.
And we still have a great chance to win this.

2 incomplete passes give OSU another chance to score but OSU takes a knee.

I am optimistic. We are far from playing our best, yet only trailing by 4. I do think that they destroyed momentum after Singletary's 2 long runs.

Just a 1 possession game @ the 1/2. This is winnable. Need to keep playing D & collect more big plays.

OL needs to block a little longer and Allar needs to make his reads quicker. It’s going to be difficult to score a TD going at this rate.

they won't do it but Beau might be the guy to win this game...sure his downfield passing now isn't great probably but we don't have that with Drew now

The level of competition isn't relevent....the rules are sorry bud. I get it you like the taste of referee boots but I'll continue to call it out when undeniable penalties are ignored for one side and not for the other.
It isn't irrelevant. You're seeing what you want to see--it's okay. Your emotions are blinding you.

Day clearly thinks he gets to 17 they win and he could very well be right. Heck he may think 10 is enough.

Hopefully there’s a sports psychologist in the locker room at half to calm Allar down. Just completely off target. Not settled. McCord is garbage, but Allar is better than this.

Honest question--if Allar is struggling with his limited experience why do people think Beau (which no meaningful playing time) is going to perform?

Allar is better than this but so is McCord.
They'll both continue to improve.

Terrible half for the offense. Some really killer penalties on defense. Zero luck whatsoever. Drew looked awful. Yet, only down 10-6. Goes without saying, but the defense MUST get a stop to start the second half.

No--this stage is arguably too big for Allar so far--Beau has no chance.
Vital experience for Allar though. I hated it that Northwestern only had 20,000 people. To quiet to help for these types of games. Need the hostile environment experience. Hopefully they can pull through this one.

Also, would like to see the tight ends used in the flats a bit more in the second half. Will be a challenge for the defense to hold up without Chop, have to hope KLS is ok.

Wtf was that flea flicker. ****ing dumb
That play could have worked if the WR’s ran pass routes. Neither did and Allar said as much on the sideline.

He said “they weren’t running an effing pass route”. Lip reading was easy on that one.

So the play call wasn’t horrible. The execution by the WR’s was appalling.

Yep he looks real nervous and off on many throws. The glimmer of hope is we are still in it with his lousy first half. Just not sure how much more our D can hold up.

Allar just seems to be throwing 1/3 second early and the receivers can't get turned completely to the ball as they should.

Pass rush. They are stunting pretty effectively on those with their LBs while the DL slants one direction.

Allar is a smidgen off. Throw was right at the break and behind Warren. Game of half seconds.

Every route with an abrupt change of direction has a member of the secondary giving a momentary tug, or a grab. Technically a hold? Sure. Ever called? No. It typically needs to be egregious - a wrap, a seriously visibly pulled jersey … something. That they called it there is both silly, and incredibly unfortunate given it really had no impact on what was a game-changing TD for PSU.

It was a 3rd Down - and McCord was about to get sacked when the Official threw the flag on contact that they ignored throughout the game when PSU receivers were ridden.... The Official knows that Defensive Holding is an automatic 1st Down - if you watch the replay, McCord is running for his life toward sideline and is obviously about to get sacked when the Official throws the flag. It was a complete 3rd Down freebie 1st Down bailout by the joke b1g clowns yet again. To claim that play was called consistently with how duhO$U's Defensive Secondary has been called is ridiculous - btw, the reason they took so long to make the call is that the loser official was trying to claim PI, which is impossible when the ball was never thrown. The Ref had to tell him he needed to change his bailout bullshit call to Defensive Holding.
