PIAA States discussion

I loved Ruth's style - he flowed out there. Amazing athleticism, deceptive awesome strength, and great sportsmanship. I well remember his kind respect shown to guys like Steinhaus and other guys who tried their hardest to beat him and couldn't. Him, Q, and Morgan were my favorites in that latter category. All 3 were the epitome of class on the mat.
Agree , one of my favorites and in my humble opinion the best wrestler from PSU to date. Weather he could have been a 4 timer is irrelevant he carried himself with class and was one of the all time greats

Can't believe I'm responding to this drivel ...

Ed did not get injured in the NCAA quarters -- it was in the semis. And maybe, just maybe the reason his knee was injured on those multiple bows and arrows was because he couldn't defend the bow and arrow. (That's no knock on Ed -- just ask Bonaccorsi and Pantaleo and Micah Jordan about that move.)

Oh, and BTW the champ that year, Jon Reader, was really good. Undefeated, dominated the finals, and beat Q in the postseason.

Actually. This is not accurate. The leg that was "bow and arrowed" was his right.

The leg that was injured was his left. He hurt in the opening 30 seconds from neutral when Mooch took it in the wrong direction.

As talked about in another thread, if anyone does have any news surrounding Pat Glory would love to hear. Saw he won NJ states last weekend.
There's that Glory kid again.
Loved the quote, made me laugh. Glory won NJ states last weekend. Had some really impressive wins. He spanked Beau Bartlett and beat Chlebove 7-4. If you have any news on this kid I'd love to hear it. Thx

After watching Chlebove this past weekend, anyone that can score 7 points on him is very elite indeed. I have watched Chlebove many times in person over the past two years as our team has competed in many of the same events - including our tourney - and seen him in the offseason twice. The arc Chlebove's career has taken is pretty impressive - he is far superior at this point than he was last year. Also saw Glory at our tournament this year - he and Chlebove were at different weights, but Glory was elite.

In state 152lb Sophomores, I think there is a tougher one then Ruth. I think Ruth is a good wrestler, but I don't think he makes the finals at 152 AAA this year.

Dice. I have been paying attention to Glory since he lost to Teasdale 6-5 a couple years ago. He really performed well last year at the Super 32 beating both Chlebove and Andrew Alirez. He then pinned Scott Parker and beat Ryan anderson. This past season (his jr), his BIG win was beating Beau Bartlett 9-4. He cruised to the state title beating Pope John's Joe Aragona 3-1....Would love to see him wrestle some more studs. I have no idea what weight he wrestle's next season.
