174: #1 Mark Hall vs. #3 Michael Kemerer
Per 1
Hall with a duck but couldn't get behind. Then Hall with a throw of Kemerer to his back, but never gets the TD, and Kemerer works thru and gets the TD. PSU throws a brick to challenge no TD awarded to Hall. Call stands, so it's 0-2. Hall working up, tripped down but gets a reversal, 2-2. Stoppage for PD with 1:53 left. Kemerer up and Hall cuts him, 2-3. Hall in on a low single, they scramble, Hall trying to work out the back, and he gets the TD, 4-2. Missed it but Kemerer gets the rev, 4-5. OOB with 6 sec. a roll, but nothing.

Hall takes bottom. He works up, and is cut, 5-5. Kemerer shoots, Hall sprawls and is in good position, but a stalemate with 1:25 as Kemerer had a lock on a leg. Kemerer with a duck or head outside single and spin behind, 5-7. Then Hall is up and out, 6-7. Hall in on a leg, Kemerer sprawls, and a stalemate with 20 sec. End

Kemerer takes bottom. He works up, and Hall cuts him, 6-8. Kemerer with a shot, nothing. Hall with an ankle pick, but Kemerer scrambles from it, they scramble, are on the edge, and a stalemate with 1:01 left. Ugh they both shot at the same time, but Kemerer was lower and got the TD, 6-10. Hall is flat. RT over 1 min for Kemerer. With 1:21 in RT, it's a 6-11 DEC for Kemerer.
I didn't expect that outcome.

Did not see Kemerer beating Hall but damn he's slick and Iowa needed it. Hell of a match. Great dual.
All these fantastic, seasoned wrestlers, and this dual is gonna come down to freshmen at multiple weights lol.

Good for Kemerer, that's gotta be his biggest win. Took it right to Hall, who I don't think has ever given up that many TDs. Some of them were due to sloppiness by Hall and he looked a bit gassed late, but I have no doubt he beats Kemerer more than he loses to him.
It's a counterfactual but if Hall had secured that first period throw the match might have been very different
Hall just cost PSU the match. He looked slow and lazy tonight.
So happy for Kemerer. He's waited two years for a moment like that.
Big Ten needs to get their act together and get this dual scheduled every year. Unbelievable wrestling.
Damn. Mark pissed this match away. No clue what he was doing.
Yeah, Hall spent a lot of energy in the first period and ended up with not much to show for it.
We will chalk that up to Carver edge. Mark will practice the rest of the year to beat Kem can't wait
