PSU - MSU Dual Thread

Hmm. I bypassed ad blocker once but still couldn't manage to get in. But I'll try again. Thanks!
Try checking to see if you have a pop up blocker installed. Again, today's match is on BTN+ so BTN2Go only works if you have a sub. But regular BTN events should work fine. I use Chrome. In the right end of the white address bar there is a notification if a pop up is blocked. I rarely notice it, but when trying to sign in thru Directv, it creates a pop up window and a blocker will keep you from getting where you need to.

Tom, just a point of clarification on the PSA portion of your message. I've never been able to sign into BTN2GO through my "cable package" (Direct TV) and it includes the BTN. I've seen posts from others who claim the same. Bottom line, you must subscribe to BTN2GO in order to get BTN2GO. Thanks.

Also have to disagree. I use BTN2Go with my DirecTV Log in and never have an issue.

the dual takes place at 1 pm EST.

If your cable package includes BTN, you can also watch it on BTN2Go, at:

As always, please post all comments about the dual, about any individual matches, etc., in this thread. If replying to another comment, please use the Quote function

Nick Lee was in beast mode today! If I heard it right that was last year's B1G runner-up he dismantled!

165: #1 Vincenzo Joseph vs. Austin Hiles

Per 1
Joseph with a quick TD, 2-0. Hiles gets out, 2-1. Joseph in on a single, Hiles with a whizzer, and then go OOB with 1:59 left. Another single for a TD by Joseph, 4-1. He gets a nearside cradle, but Hiles gets out after 4 NF, 8-1. Joseph tilts and gets the fall at 2:48!!!!!!!!!

27-3, PSU

BTN + is being really poor for me also. I hope the end of net neutrality isn't meaning that video entertainment that isn't comcast provided isn't slowed down.

Also note that Happel of Iowa is the "clear favorite" over Nick Lee. I read this on HR, so you know it is factual. IIRC, the source might have been our pal and noted HR poster DonHawkeye, but not positive about that.

Yes, Gasca suffered a nasty injury in the B10 finals. Basically wrestled on one leg at NCAAs.

Winner of Lee vs McKenna could be for top seed at Bigs.

damn, looking like the over is in trouble. ;)

174: #2 Mark Hall vs. Logan Ritchie

Per 1
Hall in on a single, switches to a double, 2-0. Ritchie out quickly, 2-1. Hall in on another single, and drives thru to get the TD, 4-1. Ritchie is out, 4-2. Ritchie tries to shoot, Hall counters and gets the TD, 6-2. Hall working the ride, and gets a tilt, and gets 4 NF, 10-2. End. RT at 1:20 for Hall

Per 2
Hall takes bottom. Ritchie tries to throws in legs, then works a power half. Hall tries to stand, he gets up, and peels out for the esc, 11-2. RT went under 1 min. Hall in on a head outside single, they scramble, and Hall gets the TD, 13-2. Hall working to turn him but he runs out of time. RT at 1:24 for Hall

Per 3
Ritchie takes top. Again, he tries a power half, Hall stands, turns in, and gets a reversal, 15-2. He cuts Ritchie, 15-3. Hall with a quick TD, 17-3. Hall cuts him, 17-4. 1 min left. Hall seems to want a TD to the back to try to get a pin. Hall with a duck under for the TD, 19-4, TF, at the 6:21 mark

Could be ... Lee gets Thorn the week before. If he wins both, barring any upset, he'll get it.

184: #1 Nickal vs. Shwan Shadaia (I'll use SS for him in the PBP)

Per 1
Duck under for Nickal for the TD, 2-0. SS out for the esc, 2-1. Nickal with a quick TD and then a cut, 4-2. SS shoots and gets an ankle, and eventually a stalemate at 2:08 left. Nickal with a fireman's carry that he switches off of and gets the TD, 6-2. Nickal cuts him, 6-3. They go OOB with 1:22 left. Nickal snaps down on the head, TD to the back, and he gets the fall at the 2:02 mark!!!!!!!!!

38-3, PSU

I have to agree. I think Shakur needs all of the experience he can get, especially on the road. He has proven himself so far.
Dumb wrestling question. Short of off the mat issues how can someone lose there spot if they are winning the wrestle offs?

I may be stating what it already known here, but Lee and Happel have faced each other twice, splitting the two. Both were in FS. Happel won the first match in the final at FILA Cadet Nationals 2014, 12-7. Lee repaid the earlier defeat with a quick 12-2 TF at Fargo Jr Nationals in 2016, when he avenged losses to Happel and Mitchell McKee before beating Kanen Storr for the title

Wrestle-off results are often skewed by familiarity.

Besides, the goal is not to determine who wins a matchup within the room. The goal is to determine who will score the most points at nationals -- and the ability to score bonus points is an important factor.

Seeing how they do against outside competition. Sometimes guys can win every wrestle off by close margins and then you see the two against outside competition and the results favor the guy losing the wrestleoffs.

I have no knowledge how the wrestleoffs have gone between Shak/Cassar. But the results against outside comp isn’t even close when you factor in bonus points

197: Anthony Cassar vs. Nick May

Per 1
Cassar in on a single for the TD, 2-0. He cuts him, 2-1. May tries to shoot on a single, blocked. Cassar snaps down on the head shoots a double, gets one leg, then gets the other for the TD, 4-1, and they go OOB with 46 sec left. End. RT at 57 sec for Cassar

Per 2
Cassar takes bottom. Cassar's up, and he's out, 5-1. Cassar with a double for the TD, 7-1. Blood stoppage for May. Caution on Cassar on the restart. May is up, but Cassar drives him back to the mat. OOB with 27 sec left. May to his feet, and he's out, 7-2. Cassar in on a double, and gets the TD with 5 sec left, and they are OOB with 3 sec left, 9-2. End

Per 3
May takes bottom. Stall warning on Cassar, and then he cuts May, 9-3. Not much thru 1st min. May tries to shoot, Cassar pulls down on May's head and throws him to his back, and is getting swipes. It's a 6-point move, as May gets to his stomach. With 2:30 in RT it's a 16-3 major

I have had worse streaming experience in general since the end. Might be coincidence or the awful wind and weather. But it is very suspicious... And I am Comcast. Imagine if PPL could screw with your electric service if the electricity was not being used by PPL branded products....

After not being able to out fat man the fat men I am glad Nevills seems to be heading back to what has worked for him in the past by being a bit more nimble.
