Man, I just don't know what to think of Ryder. Looks more Mason Manville than Trent Hidlay

Ryder wins by tech and hits his patented whip over for 4. That move is a lot like the one Irans world champion Amouzad does. I’m high on Ryder but think he needs to develop a leg attack. The upper body stuff is great but when it comes down to a tight match he needs a leg attack he can depend on and I don’t think he has 1 yet

Desmond looks like he’s jumped a few levels. I saw an interview he did where he gave a lot of credit to Lilledahl for his improvement. He said going against that level of competition everyday has made him a lot better. I’m really interested to see him in his next match against the Mizzou commit Seth Mendoza. Should be a good one

I’d be interested if anyone can explain why Davis’ late 2nd period takedown was waived off.

second time that the ref stopped the match and didn't give Davis 2 ... I think it was how he was shelving the foot and perhaps twisting it/the knee to complete the single... I don't see the foot twist but there is pressure on the leg/knee. Anyone else see this/comment?

Lilledahl is probably one of the top reasons Nate committed. They struck up a strong friendship and Luke told Nate he can make it work weight wise.
I might eat my words on this, and of course Lilledahl's body of work far exceeds Desmond's, but not sure there is a ton of separation at this point. Desmond looks excellent. Doubt they meet in this tournament, however.

This has been my impression thus far. He looks to be much more confident in his shots.
