A Pretty Good/Fair Analysis of The Team

A lot of us felt that way last year with a strong OL, Singleton, Allen, and good blocking TEs. But we needed 391 passing yards to beat USC. We only ran for 117 yds vs Minny (32 on trick play to Reynolds). We couldn't score on 4 tries from the 3 yd line vs OSU.

It would be great if we could dominate teams with a ground and pound offense but I don't think it's going to be that easy against better opponents.
Another year with four/five returning starters will certainly make a difference. But yes, to your point, we need to burn teams with big passing plays when they load the box.

A Pretty Good/Fair Analysis of The Team

Interesting comment that Allar is the most polarizing quarterback in college football. He certainly is here. The PFF guy says he's a top 10 quarterback nationally, that's hard to dispute. But on the other hand you can be a top 10 quarterback nationally and still a long way from the kind of quarterbacks that win national championships. The kind of big-time play that Ohio State got out of WIll Howard and Michigan got out of McCarthy, Allar hasn't shown that yet. But he should have the supporting cast around him for that to be possible this year.

My favorite forecast from this video -- if it turns out to be true -- is that PSU should be able to run the ball so well that they might only need Allar to throw 20 times a game. That would be fine with me.
I saw big time play out of him against USC and the first two play off games, but yes, he needs to bring it against Ohio State and Oregon and in the playoffs this year.

A Pretty Good/Fair Analysis of The Team

That said I agree that if Allar wants to be considered elite he has to be able to put the team on his back and overcome the talent gap at other positions.
But will there be a major talent gap at other offensive positions?

Not at Running Back, probably not at Offensive Line which has talent, experience, and depth, and the receiving corps overall appears to be improved (Tight End possibly good, but I admit not Tyler Warren good).

@bdgan, you're a loyal PSU fan for sure, but such a pessimist.

There are reasons people like Klatt are putting Penn State at the top of their pre-season rankings.

Dicemen99's Eligibility & Recruiting spreadsheet

The spreadsheet does NOT need expansion or update. It's too early for 2029 - they will be added when they enter HS, just like always.

And I'm not expanding it. I get more selective as I get older, just like Cael. You guys can keep yourselves busy with your delusions about kids that should be going to Purdue or Rutgers as PSU targets.
Hear hear!

Your spreadsheet need not be like the old FOS board demanding a full court press on every regional qualifier from D6.

Even going to 2028, while appreciated, is extremely generous considering Cael can't contact any of them for 13 months, and that the names might not be the same by then.

Folks who can't live with that ...

A Pretty Good/Fair Analysis of The Team

Whether you like Klatt or not, he's very plugged in to CFB. The fact that he has PSU ranked #1 lends a little bit of credence. I know he's trying to get click bait, but at the same time, being a national analyst, he doesn't want to look like a jackass. What a wonderful weekend at PSU! Daughter graduated, went to the sports museum, watched Lacrosse win for 8$ admission, and celebrated daughter's graduation at the Tavern! Almost heaven! Lets GO PSU!
Klatt is blowhard just like Herbie build you up just to cut you down. The ref's told Klatt that they were going to let them play today. F that Clown.

Snyder incident

A man can remake, reinvent himself at any moment. There will be brighter days ahead for Kyle Snyder. I hope the strong brothership of NLWC remains by his side through it.

Where are Tate and Teag? The spreadsheet needs both update and expansion.

Another Major Company Just Announced Its Biggest Investment in US Factories in a Decade

The investment, which is the largest the company's made in its plants in a decade, will generate about 3,500 new construction jobs.

Kraft Heinz's announcement follows similar investment decisions from companies such as Anheuser-Busch, which will invest $300 million into its plants across the United States. Kimberly-Clark also said earlier this month that it will invest more than $2 billion over the next five years to expand its U.S. manufacturing capacity and modernize its supply chain.
