Playoff question for the board

Clemson would be 10-2 if they win. I don't think Carolina has good enough of a resume to get in at 9-3 with a win over Clemson if Clemson doesn't have a good enough resume at 10-2 beating Carolina.

I think both are SOL unless Miami loses to Syracuse and gives Clemson the ccg berth. Carolina got smacked by Ole Miss, 2 close losses (that went from great losses to a good and bad loss), and their ranked wins are iffy (Missou is severely overranked) and waning (A&M, who might not be ranked if they lose to Texas, but probably hang out at 23ish).

I think USCe's "they've won 5 in a row, if they beat Clemson they are a playoff team" is just the current SEC agenda push to get more teams in the playoff. It bolsters the Bama and Ole Miss resumes after both fell on their face.
All fair. I just fully expect a 3 loss SEC team to get in. I think that's Bama but if USCe wins...those 5 straight wins mean, in theory, they're peeking at the right time.
I think it's really tough this year to get to 12 as I just don't see the ACC or Big XII getting two. Big XII basically can't.
Though maybe A&M wins out and that's the answer.

Hutcherson did not lose to an average PA kid haha. He lost to Brian Heard who is committed to Univ of Pennsylvania or Lehigh, i cant remember which one. One of those two. Heard also finished 4th in AAA states last year and placed 6th at Super 32 this year. Heard majored Nick Singer from Faith Christian at Super 32. Also remember that Hutcherson is 15 years old wrestling 175lb which are grown ass men. Not a lower weight wrestling 9th and 10th graders. By saying what you said about Hutcherson makes you seem like you don't understand the sport of wrestling.

Rothermel is a stud!! He doesn't beat Harer though. I could see him beating Baum. Landon Sidun put it on Rothermel at Elite 8 Duals few months ago.
Heard is going to Penn. At states last year he beat Hogan 6-2, Saddrdinov 10-0, and Snyder 9-0. That's a good postseason run.

Ok sure...vs Purdue our first two leading rushers were not either of the actual RBs. If u really think the running game hasn't been underwhelming, I don't know what to tell you. JF has made mention of it multiple times...that the conventional running game has needed improvement.
I was talking about Singleton versus Allen. I'm not saying that the run game as a whole is all sunshine and rainbows, but we are about to be 11-1 for the first time under Franklin, so no reason for the "woe is me" schtick.

What coaches do I want to hire?
You're just making things up.

JF has an abysmal record against teams in the Top 10. You know this is true. His current ceiling is 2 losses in the regular season. It looks like he'll beat that this year. 👍
There could be some favorable matchups for PSU in this year's playoff, but we'll see. Enjoy the playoff my friend.

Kind of like you making things up when you say the team is rarely competitive vs good teams. The team is 10-1. Did you count wins vs unranked teams in the 70s-90s?

Thoughts after rewatching Minny

By what metric? Kaytron's 16 rushing yards lead (with 1+ extra game) will be gone by season's end, receiving is not even close, and don't forget Singleton's kick return yardsb
By many metrics - including the ability to pass protect.

But as a runner, he has been superior and is why he has started the majority of the time.

Singleton is fast. But he goes down every easily. Good back, but a disappointment.

Allen has overachieved and has gotten the tough yards much more than Singleton.

Neither are great, but Allen has been much more dependable. And tougher.

What does one say in response to someone busting out a stat like that? Should we really be talking about Luke Reynolds (32 yards) as the #1 back?

Ummm...

Singleton has one Big Ten game where his longest rush was single digits. Allen has 3 such games. And we are talking 18 yards versus 24 yards.

Did Hutcherson just lose to an average PA kid from Eastern PA in the allstar match. He is good but not the next Thomas Haines or Chance Marsteller. What place did he get at Super 32

Back to Rothermel- look for him to bust through and get on top of the podium this year. No one in his weight is safe. Harer over
How good is Nick Singer? He is an absolute killer. He was in that same bracket with Hutcherson and he did not place either. Actually I believe Hutcherson had a deeper run. If you check the history, you won't find a 9th grader that placed at Super 32 at 175, 184 and up. Just doesn't happen.

His longest run in B1G play I believe is 18 yds...for a guy of his speed, that is pretty bad. He doesn't have great shake or short space quickness and really doesn't make many people miss. The overall running game has been a disappointment

Rothermel will be at 121 when it all shakes out for the post season. I would bet on that but don't tell Brands that please lol.

Rothermel will have to beat Joey Bachmann or Seidel. Not saying he can't but it's a tall order.

Probably our best back since Brown, but the competition since his Cotton Bowl showing hasn't been great.

Makes me think.

I 100% agree with that.
With all this being said. Keep doing your rankings every year, it's good for the sport and guys like me love to read them and so do others. PA Power top Incoming Freshman rankings were very good. My buddies and I are PA high school and middle school wrestling junkies. We discussed your rankings in our group text for about a whole day. We love it!
