Site has become stale. Very few interesting threads.

I get that we are in the off-season. But there are lots of players entering the portal, committing to new schools, the NFL draft is this week, etc. We just have very little discussion of it here. And there are few OT threads that are interesting. Those used to be a big part of this site during the off-season. But we can't have that anymore. Too many people take offense to anything said.

I hope that the site doesn't die off but I'd have to believe the traffic is declining. Is there something we can do to grow the community here? Are there any OT discussions that are interesting that we can add that won't trigger easily offended posters? Any new thoughts or ideas to revive this site?

And for the record, the other site that bolted from here is just as stale.

Caitlin Clark

I haven’t watched much of Caitlin Clark, so I watched the game last night. She is pretty unbelievable. Ended up with 38 points, 12 assists, and 6 rebounds. Definitely a generational talent. A couple of things I noticed in general…women players shoot threes better than they shoot layups…and they travel a lot. PSU women play Iowa next….I guess the goal is to keep Clark under 40.

2 Quick Questions for Freestyle experts

1) When or why do they start wrestlers in par terre?

2) If being grounded avoids the push out point, what stops a wrestler from grounding themselves every time the ly get close to the edge? Is the “offensive” wrestler somehow preventing it (I.e w a really strong underhook or something)? Are there wrestling situations that make the rule different?

Thanks,

Brooks vs DT @ 86

I will stick by my guns stated pre nationals. This version of Brooks even down a few Lbs has a chance.

Realistically I think it is closer than most think, maybe 40/60.

This is exactly the type of competitor where David's lack of world-class competition training regimen might come up to bite him. Aaron is primed and ready to go, whereas David has to get back into that groove so to
to speak.

Admittedly I still think David is, the world's P4P, in his late prime, and training with Kyle Dake every day is as strong a situation as he should need. That in and of itself is likely the clincher.

It's most likely David is still the master and Brooks the young apprentice for one more cycle, but it's far from a guarantee.

OT A Way To Legally Get To Many Paywalled articles

I like to read the Cleveland Plain Dealer and many of its articles are paywalled. However, most of the time, they are also on MSN. For instance this article on the PD is paywalled. "It's ugly. It's gritty. It's the playoffs. It's the Cavs winning! – Terry Pluto" If I search for "It's ugly. It's gritty. It's the playoffs. It's the Cavs winning! – Terry Pluto MSN most of the time the article will come up in full. https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/ot...-its-the-cavs-winning-terry-pluto/ar-AA1ntWnG

This seems to work on a lot of other sites. Always worth trying when an aggregator site sends you to a paywalled site.

OT From Penn State NewsWire: Does reduced caloric intake lengthen telomeres?

Longer telomeres are connected to longer life. It’s believed that reducing caloric intake leads to longer telomeres and thus longer life.

One flaw I see is that this study didn’t differentiate between various calorie sources. Should have been broke down by proteins, fats, and/or carbohydrates.

Harbaugh’s tattoo

Was thinking ‘Cheater’ would’ve been a better tattoo. Any other suggestions?

——————————————
ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Jim Harbaugh returned to Michigan on Saturday. To collect his championship rings and to make good on his promise to add some championship ink.

Before Michigan's spring game, Harbaugh got a "15-0" tattoo under a block M on his right arm, commemorating the Wolverines' undefeated record on the way to the school's national title.
