I think Teske can be a high AA and beat Nagao if he hits the weights and puts on some muscle this off season. He got over powered this year moving up to 33......he has a damn good gas tank...

LOL will teske even make the podium??

Clearly the most positive April in the history of the program. I don't know if I can stand much more good news.

I was thinking of we get any more hammers this might have to be a punt year just to make things interesting.

Well gang, I am off to get a new knee this morning. Tore my meniscus 35 years ago and it finally caught up with me. Bummed to rehab over the summer, but I will have plenty of upbeat reading to do while I do.

Good luck Goggles. Keep us updated.

Sure did, I messaged a few ppl in here on April 6TH that Nagao was entering portal and going to PSU. Lol
@PatMineo22 Superb trolling. Hell of a long game there and it was very enjoyable. Talk about building up Ironbirds expectations and then absolutely crushing them (along with many others there). That was soul crushing for him I believe. And then the cherry is getting Nagao ourselves!

Your Twitter profile shows that you are in Northampton PA. I'm a 1980 graduate. Mom still lives there (I was just there 2 weeks ago to visit her). Love to buy you beer and pizza the next time I'm there as gratitude for the job well done. Bring Willie

Best of luck with the new knee. Don’t come back too hard, too soon or expect to spend some time on your back.

Spence

Are you really Spencer Lee? ;)

Good luck on your recovery.

Good luck with the surgery + rehab.

Thoughts and prayers. Hope you have an easy rehab

Interesting. My older brother's name is Spencer.

Yep, my best laid plans. This was scheduled for Dec 28th, and this being the worst winter on record I would have been through most of the rehab by now, with nothing to do outside, darn it. That surgery was postponed the day of, and bumped to today. They were fully booked for 4 months.

At my age I never plan on getting laid. Oh wait, I think I misread that …

Seriously hope it goes well. I got a little scope action Sep 28 last year and was running pretty well three weeks ago, then “pop” outta nowhere on level ground with no twisting, etc. Still awaiting MRI. I hate being old.

My rehab for the meniscus wasn't that bad it was only a week, Hope you get the same results from your rehab..

Yeah, I sitting here in pre-op. The orthoscopic meniscus surgery I had 30 years ago was great. Back to competitive sports in 2 weeks.

This one is a knee replacement rehab is usually 6-9 months. I am hoping 2-4 like I am still in my 20's.

They are just going to tell you to "walk it off.."
but with more exercises.. bastards...

What would Cstar be training in the fall for? Aren’t Worlds in the fall? Also come March Cstars not training for Burroughs. He is training for Dake.
That, I think, is the issue. Training for Dake means a cut to 74 kgs. The time between NCAAs and trials is not a lot of time to adjust unless he wants to wrestle 165 next year.

Not sure what you are getting at. The post I replied to stated CStar is training for Burroughs in April next year. He is not training for Burroughs since 79 kg is not an Olympic Weight, he is training for Dake at 74 kg. I guess thanks for backing my point...

Well the good news is that you'll have more time to write longer and more comprehensive posts on this message board. 😁

No sources but I lean on Starocci wrestling just from a hunch, few reasons why:

1. He said multiple times he wants 4, that is a magic number. He said on Flo he will wrestle next year, win 4 then win Olympics. It's 5 he isn't interested in and for good reason, I don't think that differentiates him in any significant way, it's awesome but nobody else had the chance. Hell Carter could win 6 and nobody will think he's better than Cael lol.

2. He's ready to get started on MMA, I don't think wrestling 2024-2025 is something he wants to do candidly.

3. He likes the spotlight and college is the peak of it. He has the chance to be the face of one of the most dominant teams ever, going for #4 with his best friend Aaron Brooks. You can bet that intrigues him.

4. Interesting thing I noticed but every Olympic medalist recently out of college WRESTLED college folk season. J'Den Cox did, Kyle Snyder did and Gable Steveson did. Spencer Lee wrestled in 2020 as well. He said he uses Gable as an example, Gable never took off from folk. Yianni redshirted and it didn't work well for him. I think Cox is his best comparison, he was making a huge cut to 86KG and wasn't really wrestling free at all and just threw his hat in the ring.

5. NIL duh.

All in all, Carter likes the suspense and I'm sure he is serious about it but he has until January to officially decide decide so no need to ponder too much. He could say he's redshirting then change his mind getting FOMO seeing the team happy in Florida wrestling duals lol.

Teske looked bigger than Roman IMO when they met in the dual, a far cry from when he was getting absolutely horsed his freshman year at PSU. Go back and watch the bout.

Maybe a quad meet or something like that to save on travel costs but catch as many west coast squads as they can. I believe they owe Oregon State an away match. Fresno just re-added wrestling not too long ago. I'd bet they would like to host PSU.
PSU is going to start having split squad duals like MLB teams do in spring training, that way they can have home and away duals on the same day.

Look at the big 10 champ pic, I was sort of surprised how big Spencer looked when next to Roman.

Betancourt back in the portal. Was he ever officially on the team? Surprised he had to enter the portal.
