PSU - Nebraska Dual Official Thread

you like the wiscy or husker effort better?
I'll go with the effort against the Huskers. At least today, Nick and Berge won their close matches where they lost against Wisc.

I still think they are training hard and that might cause some of these "uninspired looking" matches. Everything is prepping to peak in March, which this team seems to do better than any other.

285: #4 Anthony Cassar vs. #14 David Jensen

230.4 lbs. vs. 275.6 lbs. from weigh-ins

Per 1
Stalemate with 1:38 left. Collar ties boredom. Cassar drops to the legs but can't get anything. End.

Per 2
Jensen defers, so Cassar takes bottom. Cassar up quickly and out, 1-0. Cassar tries a shot, blocked. Caesar tries again, blocked. Jensen tries a leg shot and Cassar snaps down on the head and gets behind for the TD with 4 sec left, 3-0.

Per 3
Jensen takes bottom. Jensen up, taken back down. He's to his feet again and is out, 3-1. Cassar shoots on the legs, gets behind for the TD, 5-1. Jensen is flattened. Cassar had a 2-on-1 but loses it. Jensen gets away, 5-2. Cassar tries a double, is blocked, Cassar with a single and gets the TD, 7-2. RT goes over 1 min. Cassar cuts him with 18 sec left, 7-3 He gets a double for a TD, 9-3, and cuts him, 9-4. Cassar tries for a late TD but can't get it. With 1;10 in RT, it's a 10-4 victory.

25-6, PSU, is the final match score

Take-aways?

RBY and Cassar looked good.
Nolf solid.
Manville wrestled tough.
Cenzo good and smart enough to win.
Lots of (too) close matches, though Nickal and Hall probably weren't truly in danger of losing.
Nick Lee has to figure a way not to give up the takedown on his own single leg shots.

What was it . . . 5 matches by 2 point or less wins?

Only 1 bonus point and no back points. Surprising.

Indiana and Purdue coming up. Should (hopefully) be a couple of massacres and confidence builders before a very tough Michigan match.

Takedown battle: 24-7, PSU

PSU has been averaging 43 TDs per dual
Hard to get takedowns when opposing teams are on roller skates moving backwards. It seems like some opponents are wrestling for moral victories. And, the refs are letting them get away with it.

My son and I were watching the match and he said, “This is boring. When is the other team gonna wrestle?”

Purdue is wrestling Michigan now on FLO if anyone wants to take a look at two upcoming opponents. Massa is wrestling now.

No audio and Byers is ahead of the action. So I’ll watch in silence
When he's ahead (almost always) just pause for a few seconds. I started out with him about 35s ahead, but had it synced shortly after that.

I still think Penn State wrestles better in the evening. Hard to get energized on a cold winter Sunday early in the day.

I hit pause and waited until the clock showed a time he mentioned, but when I hit play again it went to the live time. I gave up and just watched with the crowd noise instead

In my experience hitting pause on the BTN+ stream does what you said. However, hitting pause on the LionVision Audio with Byers does work, although I generally have to hit pause several times until I get them synced up.

The way Nolf was playing around, smiling before Bo's match, he is not hurt. Loose, smiling and having FUN.
