Bartlett-Sokol now.
Sokol goes cartwheel over Bartlett attempt in opening sequence. Sokol then looks throwby underhook single but Bartlett stops it and squares. Bartlett looks drag-reattack but nothing. Both guys pushing forward. Sokol takes a half-bake attempt but Bartlett counters. Sokol goes backflip out of counter single, then looks to trick-knee kick out but Bartlett catches up. Wow. 2-0 Bartlett in the first.
Bartlett takes bottom and quadpod stand ups. Sokol gives up reversal after trying to keep him up in a single. 4-0. Bartlett throws leg in and works bar on far side. but Sokol escapes 4-1 with :30 left. Lot of hard collars from Beau, but Sokol don't move. Period ends 4-1.

Sokol a super nice kid. Just thought I'd add that in. Watch this match, though. Lot of slick, athletic wrestling.

Bartlett looks college-ready to me. Great hips, tough, strong, polished.
Howard also looked good but I knew he was going to coast once he took that deep shot up 4-0 and almost gave up a go-behind. He gives up so much height that every straight-on shot against a taller is a big risk.

The Long Awaited Downey CHA Premiere should've featured pole dancers and a money cannon firing fake $100 bills with his own face instead of Ben Franklin's.
Was expecting a naked Frank the tank to run out onto the court urging everyone to go streaking...
I don't understand what the big deal is. I thought pole dancing had moved into the mainstream as an exercise activity and up and coming sport.
They can fill a lower section like no other fandom....when there isnt a freak every other sunday snow or ice storm
Most attended WNO ever. You guys keep calling out Iowa for attendance and they keep slamming the door back in your face
And FWIW I think plenty more people would have made it had the football game(what a freaking dud of a game btw
)been in Iowa City. It's always FUN to go watch the Iowa wrestlers scrap on Saturday mornings at home football games.It certainly should be held in a smaller place. It lacked the excitement of the snake pit. I think West Gym at UNI would be a very cool place to host this event at some future point. Carver Hawkeye is a basketball arena so unless they allowed floor seating it will never be intimate for small crowd events. Rec Hall would be much better for this event. This was my least favorite WNO, but it has way more to do with the freestyle wrestling than the location.
West High gym? Yikes. James you know better than that! Hawkeye fans would been invading your crib!
