BUSINESS EMPLOYMENT DYNAMICS – SECOND QUARTER 2022

For release 10:00 a.m. (ET) Wednesday, January 25, 2023

From March 2022 to June 2022, gross job gains from opening and expanding private-sector establishments were 8.3 million, a decrease of 185,000 jobs from the previous quarter, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. Over this period, gross job losses from closing and contracting private-sector establishments were 8.5 million, an increase of 1.6 million jobs from the previous quarter. The difference between the number of gross job gains and the number of gross job losses yielded a net employment loss of 287,000 jobs in the private sector during the second quarter of 2022.

Fleeing the mat?

While we're at it maybe someone can explain to me this one that gets me fired up all the time.

I see obvious fleeing the mat scenarios in every dual, many times overt lunges out of bounds to prevent an advantage or points from the opponent with no call from the ref.

How many inferior wrestlers work to the edge in neutral as a defensive tactic and as soon as there is a single leg attempt they either lunge or frog kick out of bounds to get saved.

Or when the bottom guy stands and the top guy forces him out from behind to avoid giving up the escape.

Then you have one of the worst of that scenario called when vs Ohio State Verk was on top vs Jordan with 18 seconds to go tied 8-8, he got hit with the stall to lose the match. One can debate the point, but you see that sequence in 30% of the matches in every dual and it's very infrequently called. I would have been ok with that call if refs call it in every match consistently, not to mention in the closing seconds of a tied match.

I also hate when an official overtly determines the outcome of a match.

Go to the 10 minute mark of this one.

I expect some let's go the freestyle push out, which is an option, but I would rather just have the refs penalize the obvious fleeing scenarios consistently.

FB Recruiting We Are... Better: 2025 OT Jaelyn Matthews commits to Penn State

FOUR-STAR OL COMMITS TO PSU....

MATTHEWS TALKS COMMITMENT....

A note of levity...

If any of you happen to be in the business of selling voice transcription software, might I suggest that you might want to contact the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. I am currently reading a (what I assume had to be auto-generated) transcript of a recent town hall meeting they held regarding the method of reimbursement for "wound care products."

So far, I have counted over a dozen words for "wound", other than "wound", that occur with some frequency, including:

Moon
Woman
We
Room
Wind
Wood
Won't
Wounded
World
When
Works
Wings
Loops
Wool
Food
Boom
Roots
and finally, and perhaps suitably, Loon.

But that's just the beginning. In discussing the appropriate billing codes associated with wound care procedures, they came up with this little gem:

"The situation with skin substitute codes could be viewed similarly to the drug administration. Codes, drug and masturbation codes recognize the resource costs associated with administering drug or biologic, but the drug or biologic itself has paid separately."

Time to arrest Joe Biden and jail him without bond. There is proof that he was handing classified info to Hunter to aid Hunter's influence peddling.

Dec. 15 email proves that Blue Star lobbying was given minutes of classified conference call. Let's treat all felons the same.

PSU BBall goes 4-4 for January, & put themselves in a good spot for an NCAA Tournament bid... more consistency, & a good February & THEY have a shot!

After a good start to the season (10-3), and a 4-4 showing January... with tough losses against Purdue... and Michigan, Wisconsin and Rutgers on the road... Penn State BBall ( at 14-7 & 5-5 in the B10), might be set up for a better February. With Home games against likes of Wisconsin, Illinois and Rutgers, and winnable Road games against Nebraska, Maryland, Minnesota, and Ohio State... WITH a little bit of maturing, gelling, and LUCK of the team as a whole... PSU COULD emerge from February 6-2, and at 20-10 overall... THEN, a strong finish in March, and a good showing in the B10 tournament (all doable), the lions STILL have a GREAT chance to make the dance.

In my opinion, it ALL comes down to the guys taking that NEXT STEP... from a bunch of guys who were "thrown together" last summer, into a CONFIDENT, and COHESIVE "TEAM" from this point forward... it is COMPLETELY possible !!

Trump instincts prove to be on point again with respect to Ukraine war. --- "'First come the tanks, then come the nukes':

I personally think that Trump as a person is an immature, selfish, disloyal ahole. On the other hand, he has the ability to quite often get to the nub of issues. Here is his quote: "'First come the tanks, then come the nukes': Trump calls for war in Ukraine to end" https://thepostmillennial.com/break...e-nukes-trump-calls-for-war-in-ukraine-to-end I have not followed the war closely, but I think most people are under estimating the danger of a proxy war and Russia being surrounded by numerous hostile countries.

NCAAs

Some will say it's too early to talk about the tourney, but here goes anyway.

Last year we scored a total of 26.5 points at 125+141+149+157+165, with most of the points coming from Nick Lee.

Will Steen+Bartlett+SVN+Haines+Facundo match or exceed that total? If we get zero at 125, the other four will need to average over 6.5 points. IMO, we will need at least a couple of AAs, or someone will have to go big.

What are your thoughts?
