157 Semi: Nolf vs. Hayden Hidlay (NC State)
Rematch of last year's Final
Per 1
Golf dives for an ankle, gets Hidlay elevated but Hayden grabs a knee, and a stalemate with 2:14 left. Jason reaches, nothing. Hid lay sort of reaches, nothing. A little flurry with @ 1 min left, nothing. Hadley gets a leg, elevates it, they scramble as Jason dives under, and Hidlay gets the TD as Nolf loses his grip of the ankle just before the period ends, 0-2. PSU throws a challenge brick. Seemed pretty clear that it was a TD, but the officials are taking their time. The refs are chatting after looking at the video. Then they go back to the video. Call is overturned. Wow. There is 4 sec left. End

Jason takes bottom. He's up and out in 6 sec. He snaps the head down and gets a TD, 3-0. Hidlay out quickly, 3-1. Hidlay reaches, nothing. Hidlay shoots, nothing. 30 sec left. Jason shoots a double, blocked. End. RT @ 1 sec for Hidlay

Hidlay takes bottom. He sits out, stands, and is out in 3 sec, 3-2. Hidlay shoots, Jason tried to counter, nothing. Hidlay reaches again, nothing. 30 sec left. Jason reaches, Hidlay nearly a counter but nothing. Hid lay with a late shot, gets a leg, elevates it, and nearly gets a TD, but the period runs out. Wow. 3-2, Final

Anyone else think that Nolf was going to get taken down there?
hardest match i think Nolf ever wrestled. If that was Hidley in a PSU singlet then i am pretty sure there would be some griping right now. was that first TD because of time? the strange thing was they wrestled for 4 more seconds so that made no sense.
Hidlay is legit as it gets. I hope he doesn't hang his head because that was a great effort against Jason.

Thats probably the most gutted I’ve ever felt after a penn state win. Wow.
I thought it may have been a TD. That last replay showed it wasn’t IMO. But Hidlay is tough as nails.

The score was 3-2 Nolf. There was actually a match that resulted in that score.
Nick was the one moving forward and chasing, but you are correct not a single real shot.
yeah, Nolf just did not seem himself. that Nolf always forward pace was not there. Hadley is really good but Nolf did not shoot much, didn't really try to ride hard when on top. just not his normal match.
Yeah, scary from TV angle. Clearly the right no call from replay. What happened at end of first though?
Man, I'll have to rewatch that semi later tonight, but how was that first TD by Hidlay overturned? Terrible way to lose. I got no tinted glasses for either wrestler, but I feel bad for Hidlay--so close to finishing that shot in the final seconds.
Nolf just said he also thought it was a 2 himself!
