125kg Semi Final - Ben Kueter VS Nambardagva Batbayar (MGL)

P1:
Last semi-final
Tying up off the whistle & pushing, Batbayar looking for an under hook, Kueter fighting him off.
Passivity warning Kueter, 5-min left & back to the tie up. Kueter shoots, nothing. Batbayar is another thick stump/fire hydrant type. Kueter drops in on a leg, but Batbayar sprawls out of it & they're back to center circling on their feet. Kueter 2nd passivity warning & goes on the clock. Hmmm. Batbayar has done nothing. Batbayar looking for another under hook. Shot clock point Batbayar, 1-0, Batbayar driving forward, Kueter on the edge, but he circles back to center.
Keuter with a hard snap, drops in on a leg, on the edge, elevates & flips Batbayar over for 4, 4-1 Kueter, wow! Kueter gets another point for something & Batbayar's corner throws the brick.
Challenge won, score changed to 3-3, adv Batbayar. Wow again. I'm not sure how they're scoring that. Lots of time passing & the score is changed again to 3-3, adv Kueter.

P2:
Back to action, Batbayar coming forward off the whistle, Kueter drops in & gets a body lock, takes Batbayar to the mat, but no points awarded yet, I thought that would be a 4. Ref at the table. Yup, 4 for Kueter & it's 7-3, restart, 2:30 left, Batbayar drops to an ankle off the whistle, Kueter countering, they're scrambling & Kueter comes out on top, 9-3, restart, 2:09 left
They tie up & all of a sudden Batbayar is hurt & lying on the mat.
Batbayar is back up & comes forward off the whistle, Kueter drops in on a single, 11-3 & appears to add a turn, but not, restart, Batbayar hurt again & now the score is 13-3 with Batbayar laying on the mat again. Maybe Kueter did get points for that previously mentioned turn.
I got distracted in the middle of this & may have the end of 1st & start of 2nd periods slightly off.

Ben Kueter TECH Nambardagva Batbayar 13-3 (4:27)

Kueter moves into the finals.

Never understood why guys that are so good defensively chose to circle/back away at the end of the match when you know what the rule is and the refs will call you for caution +1. This happens so often, I don’t get it

I've see many wrestlers wearing ice skates around the perimeter of the mat and not be cautioned.

Man, I missed the Mirasola match and the way you are all talking about it along with him losing makes it skippable. :(

well didn't miss much. When his opponent finally got a passivity warning, Connor may have gotten too aggressive and gave up 2. Hindsight he should have just held his ground and he wouuld have earned a point and criteria of scoring the last point.

And Mirasola deserved it. He started running WAY too early and was warned.

I’ll give the refs this - if they warn you, they follow that sh!t up.

Just stupid, to steer him and RUN back to center. Folk refs could do learn something from this.

I found it a little funny--given the criticism AB got for shooting late to milk the clock after he had been warned in his Oly Semi. The best way to do this is to keep scoring. Seems easy enough, lol.
