Fargo thread

Brooks-Shearer should be a pretty good match this round.
Joe Lee flows so well. Excellent feel for position.

JLee with 2 more TF today, yet to surrender a point. In the semis against D Carr. This might prove to much for him, but regardless will be a great measuring stick.

Joe beat Carr the last time they faced each other, I believe in Akron. Should be a good test for Mr. Lee.

Anyone have an estimated time for the Lee v. Carr matchup? Not sure if they'll do consi rounds before the semis. Thanks in advance!

Session starts in 30 minutes. They'll probably run the semis on two mats, so maybe an hour before Lee takes the mat. 7 ET?

Your boy wins the stop sign in impressive fashion.

I'm definitely a fan. He had to be trying to attract a PSU offer by mentioning fun and God in his post-match interview. I'm sure Cael is familiar with the Allen staff. Should be interesting. Wittlake and Beard are kind of blocking him, but you never know.

Nash Hutmacher, a soon-to-be sophomore HWT from South Dakota, looks like an NFL defensive lineman at 6'3" 280. Blast doubled his way to a stop sign pretty easily. Only guy in finals I was more impressed with was Carson Manville.

I'd be hard pressed not to thank Satan if I ever won a high level sports comp. Can you imagine the hate that would ensue? It would be the ultimate troll job

That kid is frightening. He's got the tools to be special, and lots of potential.

Hi all. What would you say are the chances Starocci gets a look from PSU. Saw him in a Parade of Champions several years ago when my buddy's kid qualified for PA juniors so I have followed him since then. He sure did have a lot of hardware oon that day. TIA

Great match (minus the stoppages). Dumb challenge by Lee's corner let Carr catch his breath. Carr squatted in the center a bit, but no complaints. He's awesome too. Joe is more athletic than Nick. He looks fantastic. His scoring sequences were more impressive from a Folk standpoint.

Carr wins 8-6, but Lee looked solid, got to Carr's legs and converted twice. Carr's points came off two turns from a scramble, a TD, a step out, and Lee lost a challenge. Encouraged by how well Lee looked though, Carr is elite and he was right there with him.

Is this the best place to note that Joe Lee is the lowest-ranked recruit in our Big 6 ;)

Liked what I saw from Lee...as others mentioned, Lee looked great especially from a Folk standpoint. He's built like a truck too! Excited that he's headed to PSU!

Carr should have took a shot once in the match. He is captain counter crotch lock. That is his thing. I don't think he wants to wrestle Lee in Folk.

Would love to see these two again at WNO!

Willie, you lurking at all?

My little buddy from WA, Brandon Kaylor, is in the finals at 113. Looks like his semis match was a real barn burner. He's been on a roll since coming away with dual Gold in the Jr Pan Am championships.

I think PSU will kick the tires, but not sure how much Cael will want to add in 2019 with McHenry and Busiello, after the monster 2018 class.

Obviously depends on weights, his and others. I'm guessing right now he looks like a 165-174. As a 2019, he could shirt during Cenzo/Hall's SR year. 174 looks like Manville after that. 165 is less clear ... Joe Lee? Would he be willing to not start all 4 years? Etc.

Also can't forget the FULL COURT PRESS ON EDMOND RUTH !!!!

Lee vs. Merola Consi Semis

Merola looked really good against Lee...Lee takes it after a challenge didn't go Merola's way at the end. A TD would've won it for Merola and I actually thought he had it...have to see the replay later to tell for sure. Insane match, Lee onto Consi Finals!

And here I thought Brunson was captain counter crotch lock.

I want a bad guy pro-wrestling-style promo...

Told my Greco guys, should they ever win in either style, that they have my permission to yell, "**** (CropDuster)!" in the mic with two middle fingers like Stone Cold.

RaVaughn Perkins had the best after-finals interview that I've seen, mentioning that he disagreed with the refs and that he had to win, wrestling multiple people or some shit. Classic.

How about the local Burger King's decision? Plus, Rudis (from Marysville, OH) is closer to Louisville than Fargo...if they're in this thing to make a buck, or make a name for themselves, they'll be on the doorstep in Kentucky too.

Looked them up...formed in 2013, and aggressively marketing their clothing.

Doubt the tournament goes anywhere, though we'll see. Anyone know how long this tourney's been in Fargo?

1993 according to the article. To me, it's free enterprise. I have no problem with a tent across the street. Families can either stop and look or move on. Maybe USA Wrestling should more aggressively market its wares.

Thanks...skimmed right past the first sentence, lol. Agree on the free enterprise thing.
