Fargo thread

This was the ASICS/Vaughn Cadet/Junior Nationals. Asics had their booth in the corner of the dome. They would bring in Cael's and Gable's for autograph sessions, and show the new shoes for next year.

This year, it's Nike's galore. USA must've made a deal with them. The same Nike that killed wrestling at Oregon. And they're pissed that a wrestling brand (Rudis probably outfitted over half of the teams at Fargo, this year) by wrestling people (pretty sure the Jordans have a stake in it) is "competing" with a brand that doesn't give two shits about our sport at a tournament.

It's all BS, really. Fargo is cheap. Less than $2.00 gallon of gas. I got a hotel room that's way too nice for me, at $120/night, booked last weekend on short notice. Tins are like $3.50 a piece.

Yup. The article said USA Wrestling contracted with "Athlete Performance Solutions", which is a NIKE licensee, says Google.

No doubt Nike wants to stop Rudis before it becomes Megarudis.

After winning 152lb Cadet Freestyle, PA's Carter Starocci has made the finals at 160lb in Greco! Anybody know the last PA kid to win both styles or even make the finals in both styles?

I think last year Jake Hendricks may have done it (make the finals) in Cadets. Too lazy to look it up, maybe not. I don't think it will prove to be all that uncommon at the Cadet level if someone wants to take the time to do the research. I'm heading to the shore in a bit...

What happened in the Warner post-match interview about Shane Sparks? I never minded Shane, but I actually enjoyed Nomad's interviews. Quick. To the point. Gives the kid a chance to speak and thank people.
