Kemereer shouldn't show up on a mat with Hall. Hall never gives up easy shots like that unless it's one guy. And he's from ASU. None of Mark's match made sense.

Nothing, but he’s completely overmatched at his weight and, God love him, but Verk just isn’t good enough to compete with the top guys at 149.
Correct. PSU managed to keep it close against Iowa in a dual meet, but with the line-ups we saw tonight, it's probably not as close in a tournament format.
I get it. I should feel good for the team effort but I don't bc Mark lost. In a sense I feel the same way as I did last time we wrestled Iowa, felt ok about the win but the loss by Cenzo brought it way down.

Not many talking about Brooks, but he showed up and seems to be the better freshman at this point. Hopefully, the Nebraska match was an outlier or Brooks puts it together for Big Tens
Give Iowa credit here. They really brought it tonight. We had our chances to capitalize and make a statement and we fell a little short. But give the Hawkeyes credit. They came out and pushed the pace in every match. We either matched it or we didn’t. I have no doubt that win or lose our guys learned something. But Iowa brought the pressure and offense tonight and they got the win. It had to feel good for their team and fans. It was one hell of a dual.

I think most here knew Brooks was better..I think AB is banged up a little and I feel confident he finishes VERY high on the podium
RBY, Brooks, Cenzo, and Lee all looked solid.
Pipher and Verkleeren at least kept it to a decision.
Nevills had a big challenge and has some work to do. There's room and time for improvement.
On neutral ground, hopefully Hall should be able to figure out Kemmerer. Might have just been an off night. Strange because he has been wrestling really well. Maybe this loss will put a fire in him.
Let's hope Shakur recovers his confidence .... and cradle.

And maybe Berge will be back .... or with a minor miracle Cassar

This was my feeling as a hawk fan. Abe had performed better than Brooks this season, but I don't think I ever believed he would win this match. Hope Brooks is healthy by the end of the year. I think he could have a Martin-esque run through that bracket.
That may be our best option but the coaches are certainly aware of the situation and they see the two of them wrestle every day. I don't think they look for advice from anonymous folks on message boards after a loss.
So, for RBY and Brooks those matches were huge in regards to seeding at Big10's. RBY should get 2 seed of he loses to Gross and wins all others. Brooks, provided he wins out should be top seed.
Kemerer has length which Mark struggles with. I am confident that Mark can figure it out but Kemerer is the guy he’s going to have trouble with because of this. He had issues with Zahid’s length too.
I have full confidence in Marky moving forward and one match does not change my opinion that he is the guy to beat at 174lbs but Kem is going to be a tough out for him.
Well, that went better than I thought in some ways. RBY taking it to AD, even before the "injury". Cenzo getting the Marinelli monkey off his back. Close to pinning him. Brooks looked great, moment wasn't too big for him.
Cael needs to get 149/157/197 fixed. Unless Gardner is injured, I can't believe Verk earns every start. He just shows no offense out there. Hopefully Berge can come back and make some noise at 157. Again Pipher shows no offense. I'm losing faith that Shak can come back and be productive. I highly doubt Beard gets his shirt pulled at this point.

I feel better about the team than I did last night. Carver is a tough place to go in and get a win. I hate to say anything negative but would like to see what Gardner brings to the table. Would also say if they are expecting Berge to come back healthy then I'd seriously consider pulling Beards shirt. If Desanto is done for the year I think we'd be right back into this thing in March.
Agreed. I think we put 4 in the Finals. I thought that before. Just more confident about RBY in particular.

I have to believe Berge is done if he doesn’t wrestle in the next week or so. We don’t know if he is even full go in practice so coming back much later is unlikely. As for Shak...I really did think he would be slow coming off the surgery and slowly put it together but he isn’t just working off rust..he is basically not wrestling. Beard’s shirt being pulled might rest on the health of Berge’s brain. If he is coming back, pulling Beard’s shirt makes more sense as I think it puts us right in the hunt for the championship. If Berge is done, pulling Beard’s shirt doesn’t really make a lot of sense.
Agree he can make the Finals, but can't say I really see a Martin parallel here? His bracket COMPLETELY fell apart. He beat a 6 seed as the 11, and then didn't even see a seeded dude until Bo, who he then beat. AB is exceedingly more likely at this point to make a Finals run than Martin was. Maybe more of a Spencer-type run? lol idk just spit-balling here.
Maybe. It depends on how many opportunities Brooks gets against top guys before nationals (you would know better than me here). I could see him being an 8-10 seed. The thing with Martin's run is that a ton of people actually predicted it as their big upset thing because everyone could see the talent and the weight (especially on his side) was really weak that year. Blaise Butler was the 3 seed Martin would have had to beat to make the semis and that was the year Mizzou got a bunch of crazy seeds because they didn't wrestle anybody. Almost every bracket I saw had Martin in the semis from the 11. The only curveball was the 2 Realbuto getting hurt right away.
I think the difference is Marinelli had a reversal. I thought he had it before they hit the mat.

Bo did his job tonight. Sure, a win would be great against the guy who was #1 for a while this season. But Bo wrestled tough and held his ground.
Gee, I wonder if Bo is beating the other 157's in the room...nah, probably not and he just got voted into the lineup.
We wanted Spencer Lee. We Would have loved Kemmerer but we chose Cenzo. The others .... we didn’t really recruit. Not a knock on them as they are very good.
