PSU - Iowa 2020 Dual Thread

141: #2 Nick Lee vs. Carter Happel

Per 1
Lee behind and grips him down for the TD, 2-0. Lee basically cuts him, 2-1. Happel shoots a single, Lee sprawls, nothing. Lee with a head outside single and gets the TD, 4-1. (Looks like he could hit that anytime he wanted.) Lee cuts him, but doesn't and locks a cradle, and nearly had him but couldn't finish it, 4 NF, 8-1. Stall warning on Happel. End. RT @ 2:11 for Nick

Per 2
Happel takes bottom. Caution on Lee. Then Lee basically cuts him, 8-2. Lee in on a low single to a double for the TD, 10-2. Lee nearly cuts him but works for another cradle, then cuts him when he doesn't get it, 10-3. Lee shots, nothing. Happen shoots, lee counters, a stall call on Happel makes it 11-3, then the Lee TD makes it 13-3. End. RT @ 3:22 for Lee

Per 3
Lee takes down. He works up, and is cut in 7 sec, 14-3. Lee in (combo of a reach and a duck) and gets the TD, 16-3. He cuts him, 16-4. Lee with another TD, 18-4 ... He ended up with a 20-5 TF @ 5:33

Desanto was clearly injured when RBY took the knee against the joint from the middle of the foot to set up his cradle. It obviously wasn't intended to injure or malicious, but I'm pretty sure it's illegal. Brayton Lee was DQ'd for it earlier this year.

Anything after that, you can throw out in terms of future (healthy) match ups. I do think RBY is capable of beating a healthy Desanto before anybody jumps on me. I just don't think we learned anything tonight.

Could not have dreamed up a better start than this! Let’s go boys!
I don't know. If my team were to go into a dual like this and score a big upset, I wouldn't want it to be on the back of a freak injury. Lee looked great though and Meredith did his job.

RBY owned that kid, schooled him and had him in a vulnerable position twice. Tossed him around like a boss and then the Iowa kid split. Sniff. He looks like he didn’t want to be there.

Boring. Come on Verk. Wake up. Try something. Rather you lose swinging than back peddling

Let’s hear what the injury is first.

149: Verk vs. #3 Pat Lugo

Per 1
Lugo with undercooks and works a duck, they scramble, and Verk works out of it, nothing. Nice job by Verk. Lugo with an ankle pick and gets the TD, 0-2. Lugo nearly got a cradle on the TD. OOB with 1:21. Very works up, taken back down. Back to his base, then a 4-point, and back down again. Very to his feet, lifted and tripped back down. OOB with 1:12 left. Very works up, and tripped back down. End. RT @ 1:29 for Lugo

Per 2
Lugo takes down. He's up quickly, and out in 6 sec, 0-3. Warning on Verk. They're on the edge. Then a stall call as Verk goes OOB at 1:08, so it's 0-4. End. RT @ 1:22 for Lugo

Per 3
Verk takes bottom. Caution on Verk. Very works up, tripped b=down, and they are OOB with 1:45. Lugo works up, and he's out, 1-4. Verk with overlooks, he shoots, nothing. Very shoots again, nothing. Stalling again on Verk (disagree on that), makes it 1-5. Lugo in on a leg, but stopped for PD. Very in on a single, Lugo has a hold around the crotch, they scramble, END. With 1:43 in RT for Lugo, it's a 1-6 DEC
