PSU - Nebraska Dual Thread

So Berger was studying video of Nolf (from the article linked today), and still got taken down 5 times and TFed.

Really am looking forward to the match next week with IMar.

Nolf puts constant pressure on his opponents and doesn't get tired. Should be a good match next week.

Watching the first two scoreless minutes of the match, I couldn't help but feel as if Berger was working a whole lot harder than Jason.
He obviously couldn't maintain the pace.

With RT, it's a 2-3 victory for Wilson. Officials are having a chat, and Wilson seems upset. Nothing of it.

PSU leads 15-6

So was it simply Cael's decision to start Morelli tonight or was there more to it? Is Rasheed healthy? I kind of thought after last weekend it was Rasheed's spot to lose.

Nickal with a quick TD, 2-0. OOB with 2:16 left. Nickal under the left arm, Barnes fights it off. Nickal throws in a leg. OOB with 1:44 left. 52 of RT at this point for Bo. Nickal cuts him, 2-1. Nickal shoots on the ankle, reaches for the other ankle for the TD, 6-3. Stall warning on Barnes, 7-3. Mark Manning questions the call (not sure what he was looking at), so we're going to video review. Call is confirmed. Seems like Manning wanted to get a breather for his wrestler. PSU 18-6

Bo looked really gassed. That is the first I have really seen that.

Cael continues to say that 165 is not resolved so not surprised he's still rotating Morellli and Rasheed.

Well... not sure we see Morelli again. Especially after Rasheed beats Rodrigues

Morelli beat Rasheed at NLO. I wonder if Morelli beats Rasheed in the rooms consistently and so it makes it difficult to hand the job to Rasheed despite Rasheed's point scoring potential and apparently bigger upside. Who knows?

#13 Cutch vs. #5 TJ Dudley

This and 141 were the marquee matchups heading into the dual. Should be a good test for Cutch.

Cutch to feet, turns in, and gets the esc, 4-6. 1 min left. 50 sec of RT for Dudley. Cutch on a ankle, Dudley counters again, Cutch gets the other leg, no control so a stalemate. Wait, they did award the TD, 6-6. 23 sec left. Dudley to feet, out, 6-7. Cutch to an ankle, drives thru, gets the TD, with 1 sec left. Cutch wins 8-7. What a battle and what an ending!!!!!!! Cutch would have gotten back points if he had another second, as he took Dudley to his back.

PSU 21-6

I wish I could have seen the Cutch win! I was squirming in my chair just listening to Ironhead! Sounded like Rec Hall went wild! A great radio listen though.

Great job Cutch! Still hard for me to see this guy at 197 in the future. Maybe Nickal gets there instead

Hey Lemon, go back to your last 5 or so posts, they are all negative, if you are not adding value to the thread, please don't post
Um ok,
Can't see him at 197
Bye morelli

Are you for these guys?

Tom, thank you for your posts!

...and Lemon was asked to clarify his post on Nico, but did not.

Zain looking like an "all-timer", he's simply mauling some very good wrestlers out there. Sueflohn looked like a lost soul tonight despite his confident weekday press interviews. Kid didn't have a flippin' prayer against Zain, it wasn't even close.

Folks, we have 2 1/2 more years of pain to look forward to. Monster.

Wait ...wait...wait....3 pages of posts says bj Clagon should have slain the pain monster.

Were they wrong to make a big deal of a single match?

Yes, I was rooting for Wilson. This is the best result for PSU. No debate.

Love me some Cutch and I want him to have a spot in the coming years, but his length (or lackthereof) scares me. He could get McIntosh'd without having his talent level to make up for it.

McIntosh is McIntosh. He's awesome... just hate that he's made a career at 197. I'm not too worried about him, though.

Monster indeed. Good call!

Zain got the Ridge Riley award for majoring the #5 ranked wrestler.
Well done ZPain!

=====

In addition - Matt McCutcheon gets major kudos for his very gutsy action at the end of the 3rd period, to seal the win against his #5 ranked opponent.

Matt made a ballsy decision to let his guy go, giving up the tie, with about 15 seconds left. Then he came on like a bull and kept working, to get the advantage for the TD, with his opponent on his back.

Crowd exploded with the win!!!!

Another second or two in the match would have given him near fall points to boot. Verrry impressive. Fun to watch.

Matt's match displayed the heart and soul of this team of "never say die" marauders.

I also didn't realize that "adding value" was limited to homerism. I had both positive and negative things to say. My favorite wrestlers and coaches are Nittany Lions. Y'all want a bunch of unbearable Tbar homers? Better get the ban hammer ready.

Just hard to be too impressed with Nico this year

I asked previously....what did you mean in this post about Nico? and why?

I'm all for free speech. Let's be real here, though, there's a huge gap between homerism and your negativity. More importantly, your antagonistic posts on other team's boards help give PSU posters a bad name. Gotta call it as I see it.
