PSU - Michigan Dual Thread

Weird finish by Pantaleo. The first guy in awhile to even wrestle Nolf close and then seemed content with that accomplishment and made a really weak attempt to get off bottom

Surprised By that...Zain deystroyed Panteleo multiple times...pinned him twice I think after running the bow & arrow several times...

HR is now having a discussion about Zain cheating by torquing the knee the wrong way. So, I guess that's how he's done it for four years, yet those guys in stripes haven't called it.

And someone threw in that Jason does it also....

Pantaleo is built like a bruiser but he's a really good wrestler. Both takedowns against Nolf were great instincts.

He looked great in FS this summer, upsetting some people who most wouldn't have given him a chance. He faced Nolf in FS and Nolf had real trouble getting to his legs, just like tonight. Nolf teched him on a leg lace toward the end but it was a close match, so this shouldn't be a huge surprise.

What is surprising is Pantaleo's season thus far, it looked like he was set to dominate but he lost twice early and wrestled a lot of close decisions.

Some of those guys really don’t know what the hell they’re talking about. Ther s some good posters but man some of the dummies and the comments

Pant used his RS in good fashion........good for him, good for UM, good for wrestling.

IMO that’s was Nolf taking things too light and easy.... until he knew he was in a match and had to finish on top.

Pantaleo always starts off strong but doesn't have the tank to go 7 with the big guns. Granted, he lasted much longer than I thought he would tonight, but there was no way he was going to outscore Nolf in the 3rd.

Pantaleo has problems on bottom. Jason’s plan was to work him on top as Zain had. Pantaleo has always been vey good on his feet.

It likely won't be close next time. Nolf will go rabid wolf on him.

I agree it won't be nearly that close. I think Nolf will be sharper and less careless with his hips/positioning next time. He hasn't really needed to worry about that very often, but Pantaleo is a tank and showed he has the patience and power to pick his spots.

I don't think Cael was very pleased, and obviously Nolf was not satisfied, either. I think there will be an adjustment for Rd. II, if it happens.

165: #1 Joseph vs. #4 Logan Massa

Per 1
Massa reaches, nothing. Logan with a sloppy double shot, blocked, Joseph with underhooks, and stalemate call at 1:47. Joseph in oon a single, they scramble, and Joseph with the TD, 2-0. Massa to his feet, taken back down, and OOB with 1:14 left. Caution on Joseph, I believe. Massa starts up, but gets flattened. Working to his feet, and he's out, 2-1. (Joseph went for a trip but slipped out of it.) Joseph with Underhooks to a single, TD, 4-1. Massa tries to get away, and gets to neutral on the edge, 4-2. End. RT at 54 sec for Joseph

Per 2
Joseph takes bottom. He works up slowly, then to his feet, and out in 15 sec, 5-2. Massa shoots again from center field, blocked. Joseph shoots, Joseph tries to spin behind, nothing. Then Massa with another double shot, and Joseph sprawls. OOB with 14 sec. Joseph reaches, blocked. End. RT at 38 sec for Jospeh

Per 3
Massa takes bottom. Massa to his feet quickly, and cut 6 sec in. RT at 44 sec. 5-3, Joseph. Massa reaches, nothing. Joseph with an underhook, then they break apart. Massa shoots from too far out, blocked. Joseph looked to setting up a throw, but backs off of it. Massa shoots, nothing, Joseph tried to hit a throw, and he puts Massa to his back, and gets 4 NF, 11-3. RT now over 1 min. End. With RT at 1:11, it's a 12-3 major for Joseph

16-8, PSU
