PSU Rutgers Match Thread

I'm with you. Can't quite put a finger on it, but just seems like Nolf has something extra and that's no knock on DT

Nolf reminds me more of Ed Ruth than The Magic Man -- opponents know that he is just toying with them waiting for them to make a mistake, get out of position and......bang! on their back they go! You can see guys when he is baiting them to shot being like, "Geez, should I do it......almost seems like he wants me to go......why does he want me to do that...." - you can see them get really tentative and pensive regarding Nolf because he essentially scores big every 15 to 20 seconds, so when he hasn't scored in a while you can almost see them running scared.....

I feel you but to me ed didnt have the depth of technique that DT nor Nolf has. Ed was a freak of athletic ability. had length, strength, leverage, confidence, etc.

DT and nolf are students of the game in my opinion without fear to take the practice room to the mat.

Geno has legs in and looked like he was going to go for "Leg Whip" to turn him, but then moves to a quarter nelson.....stalemate. Geno now using a spiral ride.....looks like he will ride him out in 2nd.

geno is better than that....if the roles would be reversed this place would have been nuts looking for the D fall

Bakuckas scores a TD with about :53 left in the third to tie it 3-3 but Morelli has 1:53 in RT.

Bakuckas working hard for a turn, exposes Morelli but not long enough before Morelli escapes to win 5-3 with 1:06 RT.

Rutgers coaches aren't happy with that one, and Rec Hall fans are booing them off the mat

PSU up 23-6

Bakuckus no slouch, he beat Brunson of Illinois. Geno wins it 5-3 with RT-adv -- he did come dangerously close to getting tilted for a 2 count before escaping.

Morelli very close to giving up back points there, twice in fact. I'd probably want another look if I'm a Rutgers fan (which I'm not).

Nickal riding a single leg attempt for the better part of the first period and finally scores it as time expires, 2-0. Officials back to the review table

Definitely agree, Nolf definitely a better "technical wrestler" than Ed - why he has more upside in Free. Ed was more over-powering than DT though in terms of enforcing his will on opponents......when Ed had you in his sights for a pin, you were going to your back and it was just a question whether you were getting TF'ed before you got pinned. Nolf reminds me more of "The Truth" in that regard - i.e., how he just throws people on their back 2, 3, 4 times in a period like a rag-doll....
