idk, but it certainly doesn't help mattersJS, wouldn’t Desanto would have an easier time locking it down if Terry wasn’t inflaming things?

Mostly correct. Except Attasauov WAS trying to nail him in the head with his Elbow. It was a hard intentional swing. Not a simple get off me swing as you say. DeSanto didn't react at all to it. He put his head down like you said and listened to his coaches as he walked calmly back to the center.JS, you're a reasonable guy. All I did was watch this live until a few minutes ago. I watched it in slo-motion on ESPN+ a few times. They have a bird's eye view of the entire thing. This is exactly what happened. ADS had the single leg and pulled him back in and secured the take down. They went to a standing position and stepped off the mat. As they stepped off the mat, ADS picked up Attasauov and started walking him off the mat and the ref whistled the action after about 2 steps out of bounds. ADS didn't set Attasauov back down until he walked him about 3 feet onto the hardwood. Then momentum carried them both to the table. Attasauov was partially bent over the table in front of Kyven with ADS still behind him, kind of like the Iowa folk handle their sheep. ADS signaled "2" to Kyven as Attasauov swung his elbow actually up and not back, since he was bent over. It was a "GTFOffMe" kind of move and not one where you are trying to nail someone in the temple.
It was noteworthy that Crazy Terry was right next to ADS throughout the episode cheering him on. After the elbow, Tom came right over and put his arms around Terry and grabbed ADS by the arm and pulled them both back. Tom clearly dressed down ADS, because his head and shoulders slumped immediately and stayed that way as he walked back onto the mat. Meanwhile, the recently released Crazy Terry sprinted back to the ref and was pointing the crazy finger at Attasauov looking for the referee to assess a penalty, which he did to both wrestlers.
That is exactly how it went down.
(Big) bug vs windshieldTelford looked ready to rock. I hope he doesn’t get angry and decide to go after Varner
Remember when Mike Tyson bit off part of Evander Holyfield’s ear? I suddenly thought of that for some reason.… I'm glad we haven't seen any real violence in years from him, and hope that continues.
Tyson never beat Holyfield either.Remember when Mike Tyson bit off part of Evander Holyfield’s ear? I suddenly thought of that for some reason.
Warner did handle that well.Headgear spike 7.0 on the Richter scale. Got some serious altitude on that.
And to his credit, Warner handled it very well.
Here is the picture people are missing. This picture occurred BEFORE the video of Tom and Desanto running over there. Terry was already causing trouble in a huddle of the ISU team. Knowing this timeline, it seems pretty clear to me that Tom was coming over to get Terry out of there. That is why he blew past Dresser. Seems to be a major part of his job is just to grab Desanto and/or Terry at just the moment before all he’ll breaks loose.don't think they started this one. if there's a coach to be blamed for stoking the fires, it was telford v. st. john. telford took exception to the shove during cass's match and they were chirping pretty good. also looked like the isu kids started the shoving in response to some taunting about the stall out at the end. i use the term "shoving" pretty loosely. pretty mild imo.
Everyone hates the Yankees too.But these things seem to only happen with Iowa.
17 in a row? Nice ring to it yeah? The pbp thread on Cyclonefanatic of the dual was sad. You guys barely even talked about the actual wrestling. Just name calling and trashing big brother. I'm not surprised. I get a kick out of CyTwins chiming in like he knows something about wrestling and what the ncaa committee is going to do the the Brands brothers. What a leader you have there! Here is the picture people are missing. This picture occurred BEFORE the video of Tom and Desanto running over there. and from what's been described by witnesses, st. john shoved terry while i was running through the team for his handshake. Here is the picture people are missing. Maybe Terry asked St. John to "throw me."and from what's been described by witnesses, st. john shoved terry while i was running through the team for his handshake.
terry shouldn't have been there. that was poor judgment. but he also didn't just run into the crowd and start shoving people. st. john was more than willing to take the opportunity to mix it up. a lot of tempers flaring in that moment.
and yes tom was getting in there to get his guys out of there. you can tell in his presser that he was not happy. tom can control himself in a way that terry seems not able to.
idk, but it certainly doesn't help matters
You are absolutely correct. Attasauov was never going through the table. It was a total alpha male move by ADS, and he got an alpha male response. He was clearly showing Attasauov up in front of his home crowd and he got the response one would expect. They were both in the wrong and they both were penalized a point for it. However, ADS has to fly straighter than everyone else. He's the one bringing the baggage to the party.i've already said desanto shouldn't have done what he did, but the way this is being described is that desanto was in the process of running that kid through the table. old women move faster than they were moving at that point. it's become a cross board discussion at this point with NM, but he's making the claim over on HR that Attasauov had to do it because he was in danger of being put through the table. that's not what was happening. he's a cornell fan who hates desanto because of the tucker incident (and i don't blame him). this was not comparable no matter how much he wants it to be.
desanto is a dick, but this was a disproportionate response imo. if you want to say it was a get off me move, that's reasonable too. i think it was probably a little in between. i'm not that committed to it. but it also wasn't a dangerous situation and people go overboard every time desanto does something dickish. he's frustrating, but he hasn't come close to repeating the micic situation since then.
going forward, desanto needs to lock it down. guys are going to constantly try to bait him. attasauov did it all match with the singlet pulls. he seems way less in control of himself than he was last year prior to ncaas.
2 Iowa alumni mixing it up. The apple didn't fall far from the tree.terry shouldn't have been there. that was poor judgment. but he also didn't just run into the crowd and start shoving people. st. john was more than willing to take the opportunity to mix it up. a lot of tempers flaring in that moment.
I never mentioned anything about sex...guilty conscience Turk???Also was that a sex with sheep bent over a table reference? Say what?!
People who live in the past.Everyone hates the Yankees too.
Answer a simple question: at the point where Attasauov is standing right in front of the table, what should he have done *at that moment*? He's just been walked, at whatever pace you want to call it, *far* off the mat and right at the table. It is reasonable that he thinks he's going to continue to be walked into the table, and ADS had not yet stopped "walking" him.i've already said desanto shouldn't have done what he did, but the way this is being described is that desanto was in the process of running that kid through the table. old women move faster than they were moving at that point. it's become a cross board discussion at this point with NM, but he's making the claim over on HR that Attasauov had to do it because he was in danger of being put through the table. that's not what was happening. he's a cornell fan who hates desanto because of the tucker incident (and i don't blame him). this was not comparable no matter how much he wants it to be.

They have sheep at rest stops now?I never mentioned anything about sex...guilty conscience Turk???
So you’re saying Terry is not a biter?Thankfully Nelson doesnt take after his dad, talent wise,or behavior wise.
They have sheep, but no tables. They have sheep at rest stops now?
i've already answered your question multiple times. you just don't like that my answer isn't "elbow him in the head." i'm not going to keep going in circles with you.Answer a simple question: at the point where Attasauov is standing right in front of the table, what should he have done *at that moment*? Sheep sex?? Only EWE would know bout that Turk.Mostly correct. Except Attasauov WAS trying to nail him in the head with his Elbow. It was a hard intentional swing. The Russian was ready for a scrap throughout the match. Almost looking for it. Unfortunately for him the only real offensive thing he did was elbow Austin in the head. ISU was assessed the penalty first for the Elbow. Then Iowa was dinged shortly after some discussion.
Also was that a sex with sheep bent over a table reference? Say what?!
this 100%.So glad I’m a PSU fan and I don’t have to twist myself into all sorts of contortions trying to rationalize and defend the recurring pattern of inexcusable behavior of ADS, Terry et al.
Link it or it didn't happenif anybody wants to see a good video of the whole thing, go watch the stalemates stream from last night. the basic events were:
1. terry does his usual sprint to the handshake (bad idea), gets through the line quickly without issue and circles back towards the exit
2. tom and desanto see him take off and follow him.
3. (here's where the trouble starts) st. john steps in front of tom and body checks him and won't let him pass to follow terry.
4. hawkeye team sees this and crosses the mat
5. not much actually happens. the two teams appear to just jaw at each other. the only push i could see was st. john pushing telford a bit (he did not have much success moving telford lol).
the funniest part to me is that the only one who seemed to get through the handshake line normally was terry of all people. when he was pulling people out, it was because he had circled all the way back around to exit and saw the fray and had to come back. i think corby said it best that this really wasn't as bad as it looked.
#iowastyleI never mentioned anything about sex...guilty conscience Turk???
Is Brands the Biter Terry’s son or Tom’s?Purely hypothetical - When is the best time to fire your brother?
1. Before Christmas
2. After Christmas and avoid the awkwardness at the dinner table
3. After Midlands
4. After Spencer retires
TerrBear. Is Brands the Biter Terry’s son or Tom’s?
AH, so it's St.John's fault? This is what passes for "objective analysis"?if anybody wants to see a good video of the whole thing, go watch the stalemates stream from last night. the basic events were:

what do you think the phrase “bad idea” means?AH, so it's St.John's fault? This is what passes for "objective analysis"?
Good analogy. Neither wins championships very often anymore, yet everybody hates them.Everyone hates the Yankees too.
Because those cry babies will ban you lol they have thin skin and are delusional lmfao17 in a row? Nice ring to it yeah? The pbp thread on Cyclonefanatic of the dual was sad. I've seen your posts here and on Cy Fan. You have done nothing but cry. You don't even begin to acknowledge ISU coaches and wrestlers were involved aswell. Take your red and yellow glasses off and admit that both teams and coaches were yapping back and forth. Dresser even admitted it.
You are venting on a PSU forum about Hawkeye wrestling. Why not do it on HR?
