Penn State - Ohio State Dual Thread

Hayes did alright. Got a couple TDs, shortened the match, and didn't get pinned. Also made Retherford choose top, which I haven't seen in a while.

Let’s talk about how Hayes did for a second. What is the difference between a guy that only fends off shots and a guy on bottom who does nothing but fight off turns and belly out?

Shake may have to throw caution to the wind and go all out for 6. Loss wont hurt him seed wise and we may meet to have the points.

No challenge on Kuhn reversal
Not have Kuhn ride
Cost team point

Awful strategy in 3rd for Lee and no challenge on that TD at end of 2nd
Only thing I can think of is gas tank for nationals a team points for a National championship are more important.

We have Will Flaherty and Will Fries along with another big white dude I can’t tell who it is up on the track, nice to see the kids come out to these events

Well, as already noted, Hayes did get a couple TDs. I not saying I love the guy, but he made Retherford work more than most, and stayed off his back.

165 - P1

Joseph scores first, 2-0. He rides for 1:09 before Campbell escapes, 2-1. Joseph sucks in a single leg next but Campbell fends it off

165 - P2

Joseph out for the escape, 3-1, and then Campbell penalized for a finger to the eye of Joseph, 4-1. Campbell staying upper body with Joseph. Might not be a good idea. Joseph responds with a blast double and puts Campbell to his back but runs out of real estate before NF, 6-1. Joseph has 1:13 RT heading into the third

165 - P3

Campbell escapes after narrowly avoiding a cradle attempt from Joseph, 2-6. Campbell dancing around keeping his distance but Joseph gets in on a shot but they're out before points. Joseph elevates a single now and scores, 8-2. Cunningham is yelling to cut him, 8-3. Finally a second stall warning on Campbell, 9-3. Joseph with a blast double TD, 12-3. With 1:59 that's enough for the 12-3 major but maybe not enough for the team score

PSU trails 9-15

174 - P1

Hall in on a single and nearly gets it, but Jordan counters by locking up a cradle. Hall has to bail and the ref awards the takedown that the fans don't like, 0-2. Hall reverses by going back to the single leg and gets the two, 2-2. Jordan escapes, 2-3. That's the first

174 - P2

Jordan chooses down to start the period and Hall locks up the boot on the left side. He builds :24 RT before Jordan escapes, 2-4. Jordan still hasn't taken a shot through 5 minutes

Saw the first 3 matches at Buffalo Wild Wings, then had to run. Other than NaTo, how many shots has OSU taken? I'm guessing the number could be counted on one hand at this point.

174 - P3

Hall is out for a quick escape, 3-4. Jordan hit with a stall warning. Boom, Hall with a lightning duck under for his first takedown, 5-4. Hall nearly locks a spladel as Jordan attempts a standup but can't grip it up. Breaks Jordan down and he's locked in RT. Hall wins the rematch by decision, 6-4, with 1:40 RT

Micah Jordan had about 10 takedowns so I think he shot on all of those. Maybe not.
