Iowa dual thread - Jan 31

Eh, I wanna be fair to Gabe here. People don’t like it but I think that kid 1000 percent wants the match and wants to toe the line. I think he’s getting hung out to dry here by the staff and they made him look like an idiot.

He had to have known that there was some chance that he wasn't going tonight. How many times will he make ridiculous predictions or promises when he fully knows that he may not be going? And I think there's at least some chance that he knew damn well he wasn't going, but he made the ridiculous prediction to do the Brands' bidding by trying to confuse the issue or prevent from Carter probably preparing (as if it mattered who was going to Carter).

I'd like to give the benefit of the doubt. But I'd bet he knew he likely wasn't going. That's why he ran his mouth.
Eh, I mean, he was running his mouth in HS too. I don’t think he’s even a little bit scared of Carter. Which isn’t to say he truly believes he’ll win, but it’s a wrestling match, not a fight to the death. I think he believes he can beat anyone. Most of these guys do.

For those using ParkMobile a new email was sent out this morning.
Check it to avoid any parking fiascos.
Amazed the morning of the event a new message with instructions.
I got that message. It was no big deal. Extended the permit to begin at 8am

There are lots of really good college wrestlers who aren't scared of anyone and who think that they CAN beat anyone on any given day but who refrain from making ridiculous promises about a 4-time national champion. I don't make a habit of calling out wrestlers, nor do I hate any of them, but Arnold has made himself a laughing stock.

Angelo gonna go all out with this opportunity and will show CS no respect. Wouldn't be surprised if there's extra curriculars.

I believe this is at least the 2nd possible matchup he has "missed".

100%. Say what you want about Arnold, he’s never been afraid to put it on the line. Kid wrestled up his senior year so he could get a shot at Naak and Mirasola. Would have cruised through the season at 170.

But he said "book it", then smacked the table.

That has to mean something. 😆 lol

Hey guys, I’m gonna need you refrain from posting results tonight, as I’m not going to be home in time to catch the dual on TV — will be watching a recording a little later in the night.

Until then, all comments should be restricted to ambiguous exclamations. Acceptable posts include but are not necessarily limited to:
- Whoa!
- Wow!
- Is this ref _____?!
- Didn’t see that coming!
- Nice!
- Oh no!
etc.

Use your best judgment. I’ll let you know when I’ve seen the matches.
Can we use "Boom!'?

Classic example of why you shouldn’t run your mouth. If coaches pulled. Great reason to transfer. Either he knew and embarrassed himself or the coaches embarrassed him.

My feeling/prediction is that Iowa will indeed be Penn State's toughest challenge. I am feeling it will be 7-3 or even 6-4 with a couple of overtimes. Most importantly......I want to be sooooo wrong :) 15 minutes to go!

I think we drop 2. I also would love to be wrong for the better.

Gabe Arnold had better never toe the line across from me. Even though he's 40 years younger and more muscular, I would own his punk ass. I promise I'd take him down ten times using ten different techniques. He'll be running back to daddy before the start of the second period. His head is mine.

See, not hard to do if you know the match will never happen.
