Match Thread Iowa dual thread - Jan 31

great match and I was glad to be there 'live'. My thoughts - LL is good and will get better. Disappointed about the whole Davis thing - we don't know what we don't know so why speculate. Beau is Beau - wish he would create more angles and I was surprised he wasn't able to ride much longer; SVN - natty champ, I won't say more as I've stated that here a few times. Pleasantly surprised by Tyler but not going crazy as Teemer was just getting back. Regardless, wow - really got the place fired up! Levi - tough as normal. Star - couldn't get to the legs - too bad it was always on the edge. Yea there was stalling but Ferrari actually did shoot more than a couple of times... just riding the edge; Barr can be there and hopefully will. Great experience but he has to get to his O as well. Looked like Kerk was back to feeling himself which is good.
I can understand the booing at Arnold not coming out. I didn't like booing Ferrari as this one hasn't done much like the others. We should show class and not be 'picking' on young kids. Oh, the BJC - while OK should have better wifi and does need better/updated scoreboards.
Now can't wait to rewatch on tv to see the antics of the opposition.

That's fair, however Buchanan was in on a decent shot in the first that Barr fought off. I don't remember Barr ever coming close to scoring. Even if the match goes into OT, Barr is still going to have to get a TD or go to ride outs. He had a significant disadvantage going to ride outs so he most likely is going to attempt to score in SV and most likely we have the same outcome.
I don't disagree about last night. Buchanan won fair and square. My point was that the bout was close enough that the next match is not a foregone conclusion. Both sides can take positives away from 197.

They made a gif out of Angelo wrestling Carter in neutral.
Couldn't they do that with Jackson moonwalking from 1 knee?

Of course the 2 biggest positives for our side is it is our coaching staff making adjustments to Barr instead of theirs and our kid is here for 3 more years while theirs is rented for only a year.

Unlike AJ, I have no problem giving Angelo his due. Thought Carter was “stalking defense” smart against a very fast, very skilled rookie. The kid’s a rock defensively. Not being taken down once was stunning. He’s clearly ready to roll this year, and, without NIL to appease and hold him, he would. I’m convinced no combination of Gabe, Brands, or Kennedy is beating him in the room.
Otherwise, "Ono, what a night!" ;)
Luke scared us, then scared future foes. SVN patiently got to mauling, Tyler overpowered a cobra, MM redefined Hodge, Levi wore down underrated PK, Josh was right there, and calm Kerk rode the linebacker. Sure hope Braeden’s back soon.

That was actually more humiliating than last week's rumored Shawver replacement would have been. If I were Arnold, I would have thought about finding an exit. Good job of making Arnold look like a chump, TnT. Masterful coaching. 🤣
I haven’t seen it posted here, so there’s another possibility why Arnold didn’t go last night. TnT might have decided he needed some discipline for his brashness towards Starocci. Hence, they made him sit. Wouldn’t affect the team score because they knew that neither Arnold nor Ferrari were going to win at 184.

I don't often do this, but we should give Gabe Arnold a pass. Jmadden1998 asking to let it go is good advice. That's all I'll say on the s

Let's list them. I'll start in no particular order.

Cael slapping the mat on a Q pin over Brooks I think
Cenzo pinning IMAR
Bo pinning Martin
Tyler flexing
LOL iowa fans will say Kasak was stalling bye not letting Teemer down!

Right up there with Montell Marion's 2 week long lifetime suspension.

The head coach who tried to bring in Downey and Ferari thought that Gabe Arnold needed discipline for running his mouth?
